My wife normally cooks, which she does not mind to do. Take her less than 30 or 40 minutes to cook dinner, and I love her dishes ! I like to cook, but do so normally on weekends. Cleaning? Everyone, including my kids, pick up the dishes, cleans them.

Ok, I understand you felt that by southern I meant all of the half portion to the south of Japan. I should have said "southern most" part of Japan, to be correct. On the other hand, my main point was that there is an alternative to rice, and the people at Okinawa eat it. It is likely that at Korea, they will have available…

Well, the Southern Japanese don't eat as much rice as the Northern Japanese. Instead of rice, they eat Sweet Potatoes that I understand has more nutrients: http://www.downtoearth.org/health/nutrition/okinawan-sweet-potato-purple-powerhouse-nutrition

I have downloaded your Food diary, and came up with a graph that may be useful to you: You food diary only goes back to Feb 20th, but the general trend is you are averaging out of your total calories: 41% Carbs, 33% Protein, 25% Fat The carbs seem to be going up, and the fat percentages down. Just looking at the numbers,…

Whole body shaving sounds excessive. I like shaved legs for sure. Not necessary to shave arms, except arm pits of course. Private areas, leave as is. and for the rest of the body, shaving only if excessive body hair.

The answer is: both :ohwell: Overweight people will stress more their joints when running. But runners with normal weight will also suffer injuries, and stress their joints. Just look at runner's legs, full of bandages, etc. Don't get me wrong, jogging is a great exercise. But you should be careful not to get injured. Take…

Excellent post. Thanks !

I respect the different approaches everyone has for reducing weight, but to claim carbs are plain bad for you, including the carbs from fruits, etc. is just plain extreme. Please send me an email, with the studies where you have seen that there are a "myriad of reasons" to avoid carbs.

Completely agree ! Not only weight, but you look much younger (or should I say your real age !) Big congratulations !! :drinker:

Runners (marathon, etc) normally go to a very good running shoes store, where the shoe salesman are very experienced in suggesting the proper running shoe. They can identify if you are under or over pronator, when they see you run a short distance. So look for a runner's club, and ask them for a quality store for runners.…

Feel free to add me as a friend. My family loves the Japanese culture, by the way. We have some friends over there.

Speedo is certainly a good brand, but I associate it with competition swimmers. Thus the higher prices, and many times they are VERY small. For lap swimming, there is no need for a Speedo, I believe. I would go for an inexpensive one, maybe to Target, a Macy's or similar? Or you can try websites such as this, since you…

I think you can see now that there is certainly support at MFP. A single post is VERY easily skipped, as there are many hundreds it has to "compete" against. My suggestion for support? Find and add MFP friends. They are your first line of encouragment, and they will see your posts and comments

Excellent way to look at this !

This website has a good guideline on what and how to measure for men and women: http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html How to Measure • Height - measured without shoes • Weight - taken in the morning without clothes after going to the bathroom and before eating or drinking anything • Waist (Men) - measure…

I had the bodybugg, and it works well. The reason I stopped using it: they want you to pay a monthly fee (around $9?) to keep using it. Fitbit has no monthly payment. From what I have read the Fitbit is great at estimating calories when walking/running, but it may be a little less accurate than Bodybugg, specially if your…

Have you read this article from the UC San Francisco school of Medicine? http://www.yaboga.com/paleo-metabolic.pdf Pretty good one ! MyFitnessPal STAFF - This post has been hijacked because of numerous guideline violations. The OP's original statement has been argued out and has now derailed into an insult and attack…

Yes, according to std BMI calculations, you are on the lower end of healthy (20 to 21) Use this calculator for more details: http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html So probably you do look significanyly thinner than regular people, which are by norm these days overweight.
