How about a Salmon Salad? http://myhealthydietfood.com/recipes/southwest-salmon-salad-deliciously-low-calorie/326/ Portion has about 540 calories (about half of it from 6oz of salmon) If you buy the salmon in quantity, it should be around $9 a pound. So the cost of 6oz is about $3.38, and the cost of the salad kit is…

99% of what I lost was due to the way I eat, monitoring with MFP. I don't do exercise yet, only a walk once a week, and not even that sometimes. I do plan to do exercise, for health reasons, not weight loss.

^^^ This ! Graduates often obtain work at a US company (specially of they worked as Interns while finishing their schooling)
-
Hi, How many grams of protein do you need to eat with snacks? Once you provide us with a number of grams, I am sure we will be better able to suggest? (and which protein bar do you use BTW?)

Since he is not good at reading your mind (MANY of us men are at the same case): Explain it to him, in a romantic and nice way (maybe over a nice dinner?), not confrontational. Make sure he understands how important he is to you, and that he travels with you.

I believe the HRMs are really good to monitor your exercise calories; but many of them are really not suited to monitor calories all day (you need a chest strap, etc) The Fitbit is really good at monitoring calories when you walk or run for exercise. But if you don't move as much the legs (weights, etc) then it is not very…

I wouldn't call it "cheating" to not fully record your weight loss (e.g. if the scale says you lost 2.5 lbs, to only log 1.5 lbs lost). During a week, weight can easily go up or down by a few pounds. Eventually, you will be tracking the correct weight loss. Everyone has different strategies to log the weight. Mine, is to…

I am good in math, but I am not familiar with the ASVAB tests (not in the military) Have you checked here? http://www.military.com/ASVAB They have exercises, practice tests, tips, etc

Excellent news ! Your plan is working !

I am not sure what your budget is, but I don't necessarily agree that fresh veggies and healthy food is expensive, or at least more expensive than canned or processed food. For fruit, I always look for prices below $1 a pound; there is always fruit at that level, and normally is when they are in season. So that way you can…

It depends on which Macro you want to use If fats, you can certainly use Avocados (and nuts as you already do) If carbs, nothing better than fruit If protein, go Tuna or Fish
-
If you are close in your macros (protein, carbs, fat) then you are ok if you go over/under a bit. Remember that those percentages for the macros are somewhat arbitrary, people here at MFP have goals with different percentages. Having said that, I do try now the "balance out" the macros. This is what I do: a) If it is…

Since you state the BMR is 2017, and that you eat 1000 cals, and exercise 500: Daily calorie deficit = 2017 - 1000 + 500 = 1517 That is equivalent to 0.43 lbs of fat In a week, that means you would only be losing 3 lbs, not 5 pounds per week as you have been losing Either your BMR is wrong and closer to 3000, or your…

To respond to your post, I first did some numbers to estimate your daily burn rate before exercise (BMR): Since you lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks, that means you lost around 0.71 lbs per day One pound of fat is 3500 calories, so you have been at a calorie deficit of 2500 calories per day ("-2500") That calorie deficit tells me…

Exercise is great, but you can achieve great weight loss with moderate or very little exercise. Once you are at a good weight level, I am pretty sure your blood sugar and other things will improve, and you will be able to do the exercise that you used to do. I have reduced 44lbs by basically following the MFP idea: Set…

bump (I am interested in this too !) I have found recipe threads: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/539267-sweet-potato-and-black-bean-tacos?hl=sweet+potatoes#posts-7554247 http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/538067-sweet-potatoes?hl=sweet+potatoes#posts-7538545 and a related discussion:…

You are receiving very good advice here from the other posters. I also have a herniated disc, and here is what I would add to the discussion: Since you are still in bad pain, your first priority should not be exercising and core strenghtening. Your priority should be to reduce the inflamation that normally is directly…

Be VERY careful about taking "diet pills" such as Oxelite Pro. They may work up to a point, but they may also have some nasty side effects. There are a flood of "reviews" on Oxelite that are nothing more than commercials disguised as reviews. I have found one that seems objective:…

You have done GREAT ! Don't be discouraged by a plateau ! I went through a small one, and was able to find a way to break it. I will write to you, and see if I can help
-
Found an interesting article on that subject: http://www.livestrong.com/article/484263-is-there-a-heart-rate-monitor-that-tracks-calories-burned-in-the-entire-day/ For all day, you are much better off with a Fitbit instead of an HRM
-
I will be glad to look at your Food Diary, and review it to see if there is anything that may be causing your weight to plateau. Feel free to send me a friend request in MFP
-
easiest way, is do a Google search, including the ingredient you need and add "nutrition" and "calories" exacmple: clif bar nutrition calories gives you results from: http://caloriecount.about.com/clif-bar-nutrition-m1001 http://www.clifbar.com/food/products_clif_bar_mini/…
-
Instead of a specific number of grams, I recommend you go for a percentage of your target daily cals. For example, my goal is 45% Carbs, so at 1830 cals that is 824 cals for Carbs. Each gram of Carb is 4 calories, as I am sure you know, so that comes up for me as 206 grams of Carbs.

^^^ Winner !!

First question would be: Have you done anything different since one month before your plateau? Stopped logging as accurately as you had? Changed percentages fat/protein/carbs? Exercise?

You mentioned earlier "body language". What does his body language tell you?

I am not sure I would qualify myself as "lazy" but I did answer that I don't cook at home. As many men do, I do the grilling on weekends. My wife now likes to grill during the week for dinner, her choice of course. She has for most of our marriage been a housewife, so that would explain I guess why she has been in charge…
