  • welcome to MyFitnessPal! I too am getting ready for a 5k, it will be my first one ever! mine is also about a month and a half away, i currently run 3 miles on a treadmill in 33 minutes but outdoors is another story! I do not have any idea how well i can run outdoors. my advice is... baby steps. start small and increase…
  • i eat a Beef and Chicken Fajita salad, its amazing. probably a good 700 calories or so but AMAZING with queso on top hahaha but it hasnt kept me from losing my 36lbs and i eat one 2 or 3 times a week! but thats just me...

  • im trying to lose 15 more lbs to get down to 160. it was easy to lose 30lbs and its been hell trying to lose these last 15lbs! i had to change my calorie intake and im finally seeing results again, lost about a pound after a whole month of not losing anything!
  • Wow I dunno but after a workout I eat a whole box of blackberries and a grape fruit and maybe a sandwich or salad. I've lost about 33lbs so far. I eat fruits like a crazy person.
  • your posts are very motivational! its very true that many, if not most people give up and fail to continue to reach their goals of getting into shape or even just trying to eat healthy. I've hit 2 plateaus so far and have made it passed both of them because i did exactly what your post here is about - "continue". hope…
  • definitely switch it up, you will hit probably 4 or 5 plateaus on your weight loss journey. i hit one for the whole month of July, i added 200 calories to my day and i finally lost an extra pound. good luck and dont let this discourage you, gotta work to get passed it! i have hit 2 already and it sux but you can get passed…
  • I have some club mixes u guys can download at www.myworkscene.com/stuff some of the mix sets are hiphop some are house music and some are a mix of both. The mix at the very bottom of the list is the latest
  • thanks for posting this! i weigh myself daily when i wake up, then a few times through out the day, i dont know why, i just do. it makes me mad that the scale bounces around so much and that ive been stuck at 175 for a month! but luckily it doesnt discourage me, i keep workin hard on my weight loss.
  • hah way to go! ive been single for 5 years, dated a bit about 2 years ago, for the most part just kept to myself and didnt pay any attention to anyone except for my friends. i lost 20lbs, then joined a gym, the girl that worked at the gym had a thing for me. 2 weeks later were dating but i told her i wasnt looking for a gf…
  • i wish i had advice, i lost 30 lbs before i hit my plateau, i am now stuck at 175 and been at this weight for a month!!!! i have recently increased my calorie intake by 200 more calories and continue my daily cardio and weight training exercises. even though i am not losing weight, i have lost inches. do you take…
  • i have a very VERY messed up schedule, sleep saturdays and sundays from 10am to 7pm then work from 8pm-8am. then monday morning i get out of work and sleep from 10am to 4pm, then sleep again from midnight to to 7am tuesday morning and sleep a normal night that night. then wednesday sleep from 2:30am to 8am. and then sleep…
  • doesn't happen over night, have you tried adding exercise to your diet?
  • i think the problem is before is people used to eat whatever they wanted, so the end result of being overweight is what happened. now they've changed their eating habits and do not want to eat whatever they want because they know the end result. for me, i eat 1200 calories only if i dont work out for the day, if i do work…
  • i think diet coke is a terrible choice, u should just stick to water, and if u need something with flavor, maybe have some Chrystal Light every once in a while. eating a lot of salt will most likely to cause you some serious water retention. if you workout regularly you can probably eat anything you want since its all home…
  • i agree!! elliptical all the way! i started running at 205lbs, lost 20lbs from jogging, then started having knee pain. so i switched to the elliptical, lost 15 more lbs and have plenty more fat to lose. elliptical is an awesome machine!
  • im 5'7 and a guy... im also on a 1200 calorie diet, but i burn 400 to 700 calories a day at the gym. so i eat about 1500-1900 calories a day unless i dont make it to the gym for whatever reason then i eat 1200 calories. i went from 205 to 173. since easter of this year.
  • i used to get that pain! when i first started running, id get the sharp stabbing pain in my side and would make me not want to run. well, after running everyday it began to go away, no more pain, no more cramps, nothing. i can actually run a long distance and for a long time! just keep at it and it will eventually not…
  • hi! welcome to MFP! lots of great info here and great people! as long as you work out and pay attention to your calorie intake and things like that you should have no trouble losing 30lbs!
  • Just keep going! Add an extra 10 minutes to your workout and maybe fit an extra day into your week for working out.
  • im sorry to hear about this, all through high school and even during college you will most likely lose and gain many friends! In your current situation i really doubt it has anything to do with you. I don't think these 2 friends are avoiding you or trying to make you feel like they dont care i just think its more like they…
  • elliptical machine! i was running everyday for the last 2 months and eventually my knee began to hurt along with shin splint. i am now using the elliptical and burn a great amount of calories without the impact of running!
  • i too am obsessed with counting calories. i think i may have finally hit a plateau but im not for sure. ive been stuck bouncing around between 179lbs and 182lbs. its driving me crazy! i count calories like crazy though, but for the last 2 months ive only been taking in 900-1200 calories a day.
  • welcome to MFP! losing weight is never easy and the hardest part is usually motivating yourself to stay on track and get to the gym or outside or wherever it is you will be working out. whatever you do, dont give up and you will be sure to see results! -TJ
  • dont give up, a month is not much time. keep going and one day you'll step on the scale and notice all of a sudden your 10lbs lighter. i didnt lose much until after my 2nd month and before i knew it i was 18-20lbs lighter now almost 3 months later im 25lbs lighter and seems like my weight loss is even slower than it was…
  • how about going to the gym before work? maybe even if its only 30 minutes of a workout? if you are able to get a regular workout in on a regular basis you may not find yourself being so tired but getting to that point wont happen over night. i have hypothyroidism and i currently dont take any meds to treat it. before i…
