  • Homemade barbecue meal yesterday: 5-hours-smoked baby back ribs with ginger ale barbecue sauce, mac and cheese with Hercule de Charlevoix and lemony brussel sprouts. Glorious, fabulous meal.
  • Did you use the tricks from Ludo Lefèbvre, stuffing it with Boursin and rubbing it with butter after cooking? It looks pretty good!
  • That's like an other class of sedentary, right? ;)
  • My go to crunchy asian salad when I want to eat super healthy without being bored: romaine lettuce, shredded bok choy leaves, julienned carrots, cucumber and bell peppers, thinly sliced red onion and grilles chicken thighs, yakitori style. Dressing is Neal Brothers sesame dressing and some sriracha.
  • Goals for the new week 1) Do my Stronglifts 5x5 workout three times this week. 2) Get a least one bike ride (preferably two, but the weather here in Montreal is still pretty hectic) 3) Stay under calorie goal and no unplanned cheat meals (I will have to plan one this week, though, because I usually have one meal where I…
  • Not a fantastic picture, but here's all the jerked snow crab legs and the fresh nordic shrimps we ate while watching the last game before the play offs. Not pictured: half a pound of roasted asparagus. Just for me.
  • I forgot to log my workout yesterday, but it was workout A day. It went well, except that I was still sore from the no-no I won't be sore and won't deload incident of Wednesday. Still working to go where I was before the, b injuries. Warm up: 15 minutes on the ATM + various body weight squats and some body weight good…
  • @psych101 you rock, seriously. I told you before, but you're one of my inspiration here because we started about at the same point and were you are now is just... fabulous. @sumiblue your shoulders!! my, I think I may have a thing for shoulders, everytime I see a result picture, I'm like, man, have you seen those…
  • Thanks, I'll try this! I always have broccoli on hand anyway. ;)
  • Homemade or store bought? I would love to have the recipe!
  • Workout B this morning. First workout since injury where I didn't had pain while squatting. I actually enjoyed it, but I think I may have find the culprit for my double epicondilitis, 'cause my elbows were hurting a little after farmer's walks. Those would be done with lighter weights from now on. Warmup: 15 minutes ATM 15…
  • If we can add up biking miles, I'm definitely in!
  • Garafolo integrale pappardelle with homemade ragù and roasted asparagus. Grilled lamb chops with roasted garlic rice and more roasted asparagus. Julia Child's boeuf bourguignon with Anson Mills' rustic polenta integrale. (Guys, I'm so jealous of you americans who have access to Glenn Robert's products all the time. Anson…
  • Hi gals! Good workouts logged this week, I hope everyone is proud of their work. I did workout A this morning. I still have this weird thing where I have pain in my thighs (the muscle that is call rectus femoris, I think) while performing squat. I really feel like I never did squats in my life. I'm not sure why it hurts…
  • @mirrim52 keep us posted about your roller derby extravaganza! I would love to be in the derby league here in Montreal, but there's not so much openings on the team. I may try next year. Workout B this morning. I had still some DOMS from Friday workout (you know, those flash gordon DOMS I was talking about? well, it was…
  • So, I did it. Went back to lifting this morning without choking. I deloaded as per app instruction. Warmup: 15 minutes on the ATM Squats: 2 x 5 @ 45, 1 x 7 @ 65, 1 x 5 @ 75, 5 x 5 @ 85. Deload are mean. I did my warm up sets as usual, but as soon as I started my working sets, I had a weird case of flash gordon DOMS like I…
  • Thanks! I think I'll do just that. Usual warm up, than deload with the usual warm up sets. It's workout A tomorrow, I think, so squats, bench and rows,,, and then I'll try to do some flexibility work (and maybe grip work). And I may throw in a 20 minutes spinning session (if I'm not too tired) so I would have plenty of…
  • I'm not good with maths, but I started at the beginning of the program (lifting just the bar) and progressed to 130 squats, 130 deadlifts, 70 BP, 70 row and 50 OHP. The Stronglifts app recommend a 30% deload, so 95 squats, 95 DL, 45 BP, 65 row and 45 OHP. I'm not sure why the app have a different calculation for the bench…
  • Hi rockstars! It seems like everyone is doing well, many workouts were logged while I was stuck doing boring cardio everyday. I'm ready to go back to lifting, but I don't know what to do. Should I deload from where I was before the injuries? Should I start first with body weight things? Should I do both (bodyweight +…
  • Picture not as neat as I wanted to, but still. Homemade brunch this morning: sunchoke hash with ham, kale and leftover asparagus, topped with two eggs and gratinéed with gruyère de grotte. Man, this was good (again!).
  • Our riff on surf and turf to celebrate the first day of spring (which came here with a -15C temperature and some snow, yay!): crabe cake with spicy remoulade, marinated sirloin steak, home fries and a shitload of broiled asparagus. That was good.
  • I checked my september log and I did exercise the day of my birthday. I logged a 1300 calories burn that day, so that sounds like a 3 hour bike ride to me. And, if I remember, after that bike ride, I hate sushis with my friends and drank a fabulous bottle of Viré-Clessé, which I enjoyed really much because I knew that I…
  • Yup, that was definitely weird.
  • I bought compression pants from Old Navy that were really cheap (like, about 20$). I will use them to run because they don't fall as easily as leggings, and they keep the tummy in place. I actually love to lift with them because I don't have anything hanging out. You should check them out!
  • It was a serious question, but I have a hard time to explain why I was asking it (booh to my english skills that are ok to chit chat but make it hard for me when I'm trying to go deeper on any subject). Ok, so let's try. When you lift, you burn less calories in a single session of lifting, but there is this an after burn…
  • Another boring cardio here in my world. I did 50 minutes of Spinning this morning (and almost throwed up by the end of the workout). I feel much more tired after cardio than after strenght. Is it normal? I spoke to my trainer this morning and he suggested me that we bring back strenght training as soon as next week, but…
  • Thank you to daylight savings time, I can now take picture of food that actually looks like food. Tonight's dinner: grilled black cod in the style of Nobu (miso and sake marinade) and grilled bok choy with miso butter over slightly wilted bok choy leaves dressed in olive oil and lemon juice. Light and delicious!
  • Nice workout logged in the past two days! Congrats! @psych101 congrats for the AMAZING 100kg lift!! I had a recovery day yesterday (it's weird to have recovery when you don't lift?) so I took a long walk and played some badminton (leisurely). I clocked about 60 minutes of activity, but burned less than 200 cals. Hehe.…
  • I want ta softsheel crab in my mouth right now. Pleeeease!
  • Girls, you rock! All those workouts logged this weekend, that's awesome. I'm proud of every one of you. :) I'm on cardio regimen for the next two weeks because of the double epicondilitis and the meniskus pain, so my workouts were bo-ooh-ring. I went to the gym with hubby on saturday and did 30 minutes of AMT and 20…
