I'm a gob'mint employee... I work for the Department of the Army - but I am no longer in the Army. My organization supplies materials and equipment to the Warfighter CONUS and OCONUS. All that technical talk to say we make sure they have trucks, guns and bullets.

Glad to hear this. Congratulations. Are you sticking to the trainer's percentages recommendations or just eating to satiation? I don't track. I eat primally 90% of the time. Sometimes I go on 100% primal/paleo. Other times I do Whole30. I lose my best weight on whole30 b/c it further limits inflammatory foods (starches,…

Great numbers! It'll be interesting to see the old numbers in comparison if you're able to get them. Reference the glucose reading: when I did keto and had my blood checked, my fasting glucose was 89. Prior to keto, I was always "normal", usually just over 100 (I believe 110 is "normal"). I didn't do keto for long b/c my…

The post I responded to was after the one referencing "paleo people"... my mistake for making an incorrect connection. Sue me.

You're right... he's not a fan of fructose either... but he explains the difference between fructose and sucrose in this video - which is why I posted it... he also says that whole fruit is ok (in moderation <--- that blastphemous word) b/c the fructose is still bound to fiber. I will read your posted link b/c I'm always…

I don't hate kittens... or puppies. Ignorant people who don't realize that most "paleo people" follow the paleo diet mostly for medicinal reasons, I do though... stop lumping all of us "paleo people" into one category of religious fanatics... some of us eat this way out of necessity. Thanks.

There's a difference between fructose and sucrose. Educate yo-self: http://youtu.be/dBnniua6-oM

This one does... I don't drink... And I tend to avoid all forms of refined sugar, using 100% fresh from the local bee farm honey and 100% maple syrup if sweetener is needed. Natural foods are sweet enough. No sugar is needed. *said as I fall face first into an apple.... mmmmmmm

Either butter and cinnamon or coconut oil and cinnamon. Also have used cajun seasoning found at www.primalpalate.com.

Also have to keep in mind cost of living in the area in which you live... government pay is based off of cost of living as well - but no raises in the last 3 years. There is what is called a locality increase based off of where you live. Ours is small in comparison to areas nearby because of our location. I work at the…

THIS Everyone fails to remember that we civilian (non contract) government employees already lost 6 days of work this year (some lost more based on when their summer furlough started before it was ceased). The 4 days I lost earlier this month equates to 10 total days off of work. That is 2 weeks worth of pay. I had to dip…

Luck you... I'm on Day 1 Back to Work Without a Paycheck... I'd rather be at home without a paycheck.

Creditors are working with the people directly affected by the government shutdown. As a government employee, I was off work for 4 days (without pay) and have, as of today, been brought back to work assuming that we will get paid under the Pay the Military Act that was passed last week (I work for DoD). We were told to…

Unsweetened applesauce and coconut oil both work wonderfully as well, but buttah is definitely preferred. Applesauce and coconut oil can leave your recipe feeling a bit more moist than intended, but both add great flavor.

All hail the Kerrygold!! Amazingly wonderful stuff. *salivating*

I gave up cheese all this last month... easy peasy. Bacon stays (and coincidentally, it's what I ate every morning for breakfast this month!)

I can lift a heavier using a bar than I can using dumbbells. 100 lbs on a barbell is possible for me to lift on a bench press, but two 50 lb dumbbells is not.

What he said... Maybe you could share your MFP diary with them so they can see how much you're eating (calorie wise) and what a healthy (for you) diet looks like. Keep doing what you're doing and be that positive role model they need.

My legs. :)

I am trying this. Apparently there are too many MFPers using it right now b/c it keeps telling me there are too many requests to process at this time.

Thanks! I've been looking for this! It used to go by a different name so I was unable to locate the page! Thanks so much!

I'm not sure I agree with that article and here is why. Keep in mind, this is just my experience. I used to be a heel striker in running shoes. Since switching to vibrams, I strike mid-foot and I don't slouch anymore. It came naturally to midfoot strike and stand up straighter. I had countless running injuries from ITBS to…

The previous poster said that the proper shoe can have a 12mm drop or a 0mm drop. Chucks would provide a 0mm drop. As would vibrams. As to whether or not Chucks are a proper running shoe is dependent on your goals - many would think vibrams are not a proper running shoe... however, I do, for my body, gait and form they are…

The reports I have read say that juicing raises blood sugar levels b/c you're only consuming the sugary substance in fruits and none of the fiberous content. Plus, Spark People recently did an article on it that showed there is no macronutrient or micronutrient benefit to juicing versus eating the whole fruit/veggie.

Whatever you choose to do, sticking with naturally gluten free foods is best. But also be wary of cross reactions from other grains. A lot of research has been published lately to indicate that people who are allergic to wheat products can also experience reactions to corn and other gluten-free grains simply b/c they…
