Ultimately, whatever you choose to go with, it will probably work as long as you maintain a caloric deficit. I'm currently training in BJJ (Gi and No Gi) and Muay Thai. I just started at the beginning of December, so I am a white belt in BJJ and I guess you could say I am the equivalent of a white belt in MT (although my gym doesn't really do ranks in MT)

I'm fairly new. I started on Dec 3. I am a white belt obviously. I train in gi 3 days a week and no-gi (MMA class) 4 days a week. Learning slowly but surely.

I think the term low carb in general is bunk. I prefer to avoid highly processed carbs as much as possible, not because they are carbs but because they are highly processed. I really eat all the carbs I want otherwise as long as I stay within my daily caloric goal. I just try t make sure I minimize refined/processed carbs…

I've heard of .8-1 gram per pound of lean body mass, but not body weight. I'd suggest trying to determine your LBM (get your body fat percentage determined) and try that. Otherwise you'll probably be consuming excess protein which will probably end up getting expelled as waste.
