Hmm, probably no.

I think I'm going to try to do the ol' eyeball-log so I don't help myself to thirds, fourths, etc. Seconds are a given. This will be the first year I'll be around more food than people. My aunt usually makes enough for everyone to have one modestly full plate and second helpings of some stuff, but that's it. This year, I'm…

Also, I'm planning to alternate between yoga and calisthenics stuff (crunches, lunges, etc etc), and definitely in the morning.

Thanks for all of your advice and insight! I'm feeling far less sore. At long last I can move around with virtually no pain. I'll definitely be giving all of your solutions consideration when I start working out again tomorrow :)

Thanks! I'll give that a try!

Thank you for posting this. I went through similar motions yesterday,. but mine involved hangover eating. When I went to bed, I made a promise to myself that today i'd start fresh. Of course, when I woke up, that fighting spirit was greatly diminished, but reading your post and all the advice and encouraging words have…

the dependency thing is what makes me wary of shake-diets, but it sounds like you're taking all the right steps to avoid that bounce back or whatever. no matter how you got there, you are doing amazing. congratulations and good luck in your journey <3

Wow. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sure it wasn't easy to write all of that down for a bunch of strangers, let alone to actually live through it, but you've accomplished something amazing and now you and your story can stand to help others (myself included). It is the stories of absolute perseverance and hard work…

Yes! I love the mystery aspect too. Love when my man notices my changes and compliments me. He doesn't have a membership to the gym, but has said that if he got one he'd want me to go with him at least until he felt comfortable and I totally get that and would do it for a while if he wanted. I like to work out alone in…

Huge victory! hope the MRI went well too!

that is amazing! it must have been such a gorgeous run. i just managed to jog for a full five minutes straight (c25k week 4, day1) for the first time in years. hearing that you've come so far will hopefully inspire me to stick with it. good luck on the half marathon next year, although it doesn't sound like you'll need…

I'm not an expert, but I do write a lot about health studies, and this is totally true. Cheat days encourage you to eat unhealthily, but if you let yourself enjoy say, a funsize candybar, every once in a while, it'll keep you happy. Don't avoid foods you love just because they're not leafy green veggies. Just don't order a…
