lol i know i know. but when you have to add 40 minutes to your gym time just to get there and back, it becomes a lot harder to get your butt there in the first place. especially in boston during a snowpocalypse! being able to pop over that quickly will make it a lot easier for me to get back on track with my schedule.…

done and done. thanks!
-
<3 i miss mine too. thanks for the friendship lol
-
I have a coworker who can do this. I'VE SEEN IT.

I eat when I'm anxious too. I'm personally considering meditation as a way to try and calm myself down, but that doesn't necessarily cover the eating aspect of it.. what about something you can do with your hands? if they're full, you can't reach for a snack as easily, lol. and things like painting, knitting, puzzles, etc…

hi! welcome! i'm terrible at introductions, but yay!!! :)
-
fantastic work! congrats :)

Report them if you're concerned. That's literally why the moderators are there. Intervening with someone struggling with a disorder or unhealthy behavior is a lot more important than deleting forum posts with cursewords. Beyond that, I'm not sure there is much you can do. I had a 'friend' here who was displaying unhealthy…

I love this idea. rather than focusing on the scale or inches, rewarding yourself for working out is brilliant. I am starting this today. I'm going to set a similar goal. thanks so much for sharing!!!
-
My ah-hah moment, mentally, was when I finally started logging everything, and doing so as honestly and accurately as possible. I don't have a food scale, and I don't see myself ever getting that precise, so I overestimate when I'm not 100% sure of calories. It made me finally face the reality of my eating habits. And…

i've been plateau'd since august, scale-wise, and spirit-wise i've been stuck in a rut for the last month or two.. thank you so much for sharing your progress.. the size 10 'goal jeans' really hit home for me. I hit my first milestone (size 12 from 16) and it sort of made me stop because i'd already accomplished what I…
-
yes!!!! this is one of the best milestones. even though you've already made progress, for some reason, seeing al three numbers change is just..it's just the best! you are ONEderful. congrats on crossing this hurdle and good luck in the rest of your journey! <33
-
Could not agree more! I'm on the same journey, though not as far along as you and i feel like a slower loss is going to be way more sustainable because it's incremental change and your mind can keep up better with your body and lifestyle. congrats again!
-
you're literally glowing in your 'now' pictures. way to go! can I ask how tall you are?
-
5'10 here! yay tall ladies! SW:216 CW:185 (31lbs down - fairly recent full-body profile pic) ok, so. something weird i've found as I've lost weight. my 'fat' clothes still fit, which was discouraging at first. until i realized that it's not the fact that i could still wear them, it's the fact that they fit differently!…

stand? walk around? i dunno. note: if it's not crowded, this does not bother me. but having once been super shy at the gym, i know what it's like to wait around for equipment to free up. some people, especially those new to working out, might be too shy to ask someone if they're using something when they're really just…

lol makeup was one of my complaints too, but for the most part, the ladies at my gym who do this also work their *kitten* off. i wouldn't mind so much if they were coming in already done up (been there) but i've legit seen ladies touch up their makeup right before they get started. like. why? don't you sweat?!
-
lol. i'm so going to do that.
-
that. thank you. i will do exactly that. :)
-
-people who don't put weights/equipment back when they're done. -people who don't wipe down cardio machines -grunters (excessive.. sometime i get you just can't help it) -weight droppers. -people resting on weight machines when the gym is crowded. -women wearing excessive makeup -jeans.
-
thank you. that makes me feel so much better
-
ahh! congrats!! you're making major progress! slow change is always a million times better than no change, keep going! post more successes!
-
It is never easy at first. never. not one person on MFP will say they had no problem going from eating whatever crap they wanted whenever they wanted to eating what was best for them and what was healthiest for them. Of course it's not easy to give up eating the things that you are used to eating. changing a routine is not…

wow. this is just the inspiration I needed. you and i started at about the same spot. I'm 20 lbs away from the same goal. you carried the extra weight really well (much better than I did), and you looked amazing then and even more amazing now. congrats on your success and good luck with maintenance!!!
-
Wow!! Way to go. In 21 months!?! crushin it!
-
thanks! and yeah, i've been trying to do the same. if nothing else, i don't make excuses or bail on workouts even a fraction as often as i did a year ago. i used to blow off the gym for weeks at a time, but in the past five or six months, the longest i've gone without working out was a week, and that's only happened twice.…
-
aww yay!!! way to go! hotel gyms are always empty too, so you can pretend you have your own personal gym! get it girl!!!
-
Thanks! Yeah, the small hassle of carrying an extra bag is not nearly as bad as the weight of defeat when you skip a gym day. i can't wait to get my new gear and toss it in a bag and feel all.. athletic. :)
-
lol i friggin' wish I could do that. my head gets so sweaty, even if i'm just lifting weights, and dry shampoo doesn't come close to helping. i can only use dry shampoo the a day or two after a wash, and only if i haven't gotten super sweaty. my hair is not sweat-friendly. :(
-
so. i leave work at 5, get home at 6. check my mail, tidy my room, change, and walk to the gym. Ideally, there by 630. Cardio for 30, weights for 30-40. Back home by 745. Shower, dry my hair, pack my overnight bag and walk to my bfs. Get there by 845-9. Finally get a chance to sit and relax before cooking dinner. to be…
