I started setting aside the money I would normally spend on alcohol. It added up quickly and I spent it on other things I wouldn't normally buy for myself/house/family. It was a great incentive.

Hi- 51 and live in Ohio. About 30 lbs to lose. I walk 2 miles with my husband/dog most nights. I'm going to lose it slowly and not feel tortured.

Hi All-I need the support too. I'm almost 50 and would like to lose another 20 before Oct. I've lost 20 lbs. since Nov, but my schedule has changed. I'm finding it hard to exercise and lost my motivation. I live in Ohio. My goals are to set an exercise schedule again, keep stress low, and begin to lose weight again.

I run 9/10 min. mile and can easily burn 350 in 35 minutes. I try to underestimate my exercise and overestimate my calorie intake. Agree with the others...log everything you eat.

Hi Ladies-I'm 49 from Ohio. 11 lbs down, 28 to go. I'm slow too. I have two kids, 15yo girl and almost 13 yo boy.

Get your feet/walk assessed and the the store people will recommend shoes. They are the pros.

If I'm hungry, I eat them, if I'm not, I don't. Easy for me. I don't sweat it either way.

I have been in a slump for about 3 weeks. Gained 2-3 pounds back. Then I did something really drastic-went bathing suit shopping....did the trick for me. I didn't buy any trigger foods and exercised already today!

I fluctuated over 2 pounds in the last two days. Maybe you hit a 'high' day. Hang in there. I have been discouraged many times by the scale, but trust the process....:flowerforyou:

Go to a runner's store and have them evaluate your gait. Once I found out I needed light stability shoes, I checked with Runners World website from March 2010 and got last year's recommended shoes-discounted because the new line just came out in March. I got them for pretty inexpensively from Holabird.com. Good…

Mine is old fashioned oatmeal (about 3 minutes in the microwave) and frozen blueberries. The frozen blueberries cool off the hot oatmeal. Sometimes I fix egg white omelette with some sort of meat and low-fat cheese.

I've heard diet sodas are bad too, but I am hooked on them. I am giving up so much else right now that I'm not going to sweat the diet coke. :drinker:

I frequently go over 60 minutes. It burns more calories and I have a 1/2 marathon coming up in May.

Historical Fiction is my favorite genre. I just finished 'Fall of Giants' by Ken Follett. Fabulous.

Here's what I like: Laughing Cow on Wasa crackers, salsa and cucumber slices, string cheese, hummus and carrots, yogurt, clementine oranges, grapes, kettle corn. I want to see what others eat too for new ideas.:drinker:
