Thanks! But I was looking for information to assist with training before I went to the Facility Director. Once you approach the FD then you are looking to start instruction. Honestly, I'm not there yet. I am trying to get there because I don't think I am fit enough to teach and do the work.

I would make sure you are doing the push ups with good form. Check out the link below. If you are doing them with good form, then you can follow these suggestions. You can also modify the push up until you get stronger. So, if you are doing the push ups with your feet elevated then reduce the elevation and continue working…

Well, You need to get a good sports bra. if you are over DD, then you are going to have a hard time. I wear a Enell sports bra. It does a fabulous job at supporting but its rather cumbersome and expensive. The other thing is focus on your pectoral and back muscles. So that means push ups, Dead lifts, bench presses, and…

My Nike Training Club group instructor is starting a tabata challenge that I will be doing during August. It is 4 mins of HIIT that starts on August 1. You can get started in the challenge by joining on Facebook. She is supposed to post the workouts on Youtube. I posted both links below.…

My name is Demetria and I am 40 years old. I weigh 209 and would like to see "onderland" sometime soon. So my goal is to lose 25lbs by January 1st. Lately I've been coasting along and losing about .6 lbs a month. Yes, that's less than a pound a month. So, I know something is not right. I'm hoping that this challenge will…

I drink plenty of water now but I didn't start out drinking an abundance of water. I started on this journey drinking water with lemon at restaurants. Then when I received my meal, I would order another drink. Wait Staff would keep my cup full so I was sure to get in a good bit of water. Now I only drink water at…

We bought a new HRM (Polar FT7) and found that it calculated the amount of time I spent burning fat. In my Zumba class, I spent 13% of the time in burning fat according to the HRM. The rest of the time was fitness improvement. It lead me to thinking about what I should do to maximize my time working out to lose weight…

I was encouraged by my Nutritionist to start the Paleo way of eating. So I did a search on MFP forums to get some information. Here is the link good conversations. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/974233-paleo-diet?hl=paleo+diet There is also supposed to be a group on MFP. I haven't found it yet.

Revision - I quit WW because I lost the initial 10lbs and have kept it off but didn't lose any further. When I talked to a Nutritionist, she suggested macro-nutrient diet (veggies, quality protein, and healthy fat) with a serving of fruit as a dessert. WW discourages healthy fats but a macronutrient diet encourages healthy…

I was always told that you need some protein to build your muscles after a heavy strength training session. While using low weight and high repetitions, I would say don't eat the calories because you aren't using a tremendous amount of calories. For high weight and low repetitions, I would say have a protein or recovery…

I would say restart Week 3 just to see where your body is and how much you can handle.

If you want to increase your weight lifting away from the sweaty guys, then get into a Body Pump Class or a Nike Fitness club class. These are free weight group classes. Nike Fitness Club is designed for women.

That was helpful. I eat an appropriate amount of carbs as allotted by MFP. But I'm not losing weight like I want. So, someone suggested that I remove the carbs which sent me into feeling poorly especially if I do a really heavy workout. So Thanks ValerieMartin, this helps me understand why I feel poorly. So maybe you,…

*bump* I have been participating in Nike Training Club for about 2 weeks. Last night, I did it and ate a normal dinner. 3 hours later, I was starving when heading home from a late night church meeting! I stopped and purchased some food that I didn't really want to eat because I couldn't go to bed that hungry. I had to…
