  • I'm a man and I don't believe in God, but you're still in my thoughts! I'm sorry your motivation is low, but don't give up! I've read SO MANY inspiring stories on My Fitness Pal. They really helped me stick to this diet, even though I'd flunked on every slimming plan I'd tried for years before. This time it worked because…
  • Yes, I'm curious too! I totally do the nekkid thing, too. We're a bunch of nudists on My Fitness Pal, it appears!
  • Fellow redheads are always welcome here! Way to go, girl! Good luck with your goals and we look forward to hearing more from you!
  • I gave up my beloved coffee a few weeks ago and switched to green tea - and it did have an impact on my weight. I had plateaued at 177lbs and without doing anything different, switching to green tea helped me over that hump and down to 175. It certainly doesn't work miracles, but every little helps. I drink about a liter…
  • This is so sad - I'm glad you guys are staying open regardless. It's a tragedy that the American car industry is collapsing. It's an American institution - I'm originally from Europe, but the best cars I've ever owned have been American. Right now I drive an '89 Lincoln Town Car - it's a beautiful and graceful old tank and…
  • I've been saving my change in a big ol' jar and want to get a Wii - I hear it's a good way to get your heart pumping. I've already got my eye on the Indiana Jones game coming out this June (you 'really' throw Indy's punches and crack his whip.) Anybody else got a Wii? Any luck with exercise/weight loss with it?
  • I hit a plateau too and just started drinking green tea - like you, I've noticed the weight coming off again (more or less.) I've swapped my coffee for green tea and I feel a lot less jittery and thirsty. I'm sold on it!
  • I would have both eyes done at once - it's amazing. It's a VERY safe procedure, but my advice is: 1: Make sure you get the best treatment possible, which is intralase LASIK. This uses a laser to cut the flaps which 'open' the eye instead of a doctor with a scalpel. Some cheaper doctors still use scalpels, which aren't as…
  • I had LASIK in May of last year - I'm overjoyed at the results. Quite simply one of the best decisions I ever made.
  • Lipozene has been sued a gazillion times, but the product itself does 'work,' sort of. Clinical trials have seen it help people in a (small) trial base lose weight - but the actual weight loss is fairly insignificant. It certainly doesn't work by 'filling the stomach with fiber!' Given that it's about $40 a packet, I'd say…
  • I grew up on a farm and when we lived in England, had the best Farmer's Market in the country right on our doorstep (Winchester.) So I was thrilled to discover one near us in NJ. I totally agree with what you said - the quality's INFINITELY better that the supermarkets (which kind of suck) and it does wind up being a lot…
  • ...that actually fit. My new size, I mean. And I had to drill another hole in my belt. 34 inch waist again. WhhoooWhooo!
  • It's astounding how popular these books are. Stephen King tore them and Stephanie Meyer to shreds. I found that funny - he was sneered at as a populist writer for so long and now he's making the same insult to her! Say what you want, but Meyer came up with some powerful themes in those books that really resonate with an…
  • So last night I hit a milestone - 10lbs lost. This morning, My Fitness Pal recalculated my diet - and I went from 1,800 calories to 'spend' in a day to 1,740 instead! So the more you lose, the more work it is to keep on losing. Eeep. I was doing really great for my first week and have fluctuated since then. I think I'm…
  • I HEAR YOU! Iused to be able to quaff martinis like nobody's business.... Not after two week's dieting, hardly any alcohol and an empty stomach.
  • AWESOME advice. CMriverside is my new heroine.
  • I have always liked the odd tipple and generally been known to handle my booze quite well... However, I learned a humbling lesson this weekend! If you 'save up' that day's calories to 'spend' on alcoholic drinks... You might find they hit you harder than you'd imagined! Martinis on an empty stomach = NOT A GOOD IDEA. I…
  • I decided to lose a pound a week, so I have a manageable 1800 calories a day to play with, which means cutting out 300 a day, or so, isn't that bad. I went over by 900, so three days of eating 300 calories less 'makes up for it.' But in the end, it would take some serious world-class competition-style eating to ruin six…
  • PIZZA! got me too, on Friday. I can't resist it. I went over by 900 calories... I'm going to try and cut out 300 more than usual for the next three days to make up for it. But if we don't indulge ourselves every once in a while... Well, what's the point of living!?
  • As an unofficial observer, I'm sure you'd make a yummy mummy however you weigh in! But welcome aboard and good luck.
  • HA! I laughed so hard at that, everybody in my office stared at me.
  • You spoke French, so already I adore you. In a totally platonic way, obviously! Welcome to My Fitness Pal!
  • One of the reasons I could never stick to a diet before is the concept of cutting out alcohol completely. With My fitness Pal, I can look at how many calories I have free and say: "Okay, I can have a glass of wine - but ONLY if I skip that second helping of pasta."
  • It's terrifying... Hopefully many of the prepared products were cooked or heated enough to kill the bacteria. My wife has a PB&J every day for lunch, so we went straight to the fridge when we heard!
  • Good for you! I know how frustrated I used to get on fad diets, sticking on it for two weeks and not losing even a pound. It's great to see results. You can do it!
  • Ohhh. Shenko just answered that.
  • Congratulations! It's nice to see someone who weighs in 'old money.' I recently moved to America and am still trying to work things out in lbs. (How many lbs in a stone? 12 or 14?)
  • I haven't tried SPIN, but I hear it's INTENSE. Good for you!
  • I joined about a week ago and LOVE this site. The food tracking is perfect - I've managed to actually STICK to a diet, because I know exactly how many calories everything is (so I can treat myself by 'trading' calories by having a smaller proportion of something else.) Also, all you guys on the message boards are really…
