  • Northwestern Canada!
  • Welcome! This is definitely the place to start. I have tried a few times to lose weight, but this time, while using MFP, it feels permanent. It's a lifestyle! Good luck and keep using the forums!
  • Not only was it Christmas, but we spent the week before Christmas in Mexico at an all inclusive resort. However, I weighed myself and SOMEHOW I lost .4lbs! I worked out while I was in Mexico and during the holidays, but still enjoyed myself and ate/drank what I wanted (to a point). I found it quite easy to get back into my…
  • For the most part, I am pretty good at eating well on the go so I don't think the drink is right for me, but I'm sure it works for many other people. Just for fun I did the tf hiit 15 workout today and I loved it like always. 142 calories burned in 15 mins (which is actually really good for me since I am already in decent…
  • I am interested- I am doing a program for a 10k right now that only has me doing the run 3 days a week with cross training on the other days, so I wont have miles to add in every day but I could put my workout of the day maybe?
  • No I don't do the shakeology thing, even when I did insanity. I'm always a little weary of that sort if thing..my body will always tell me what I need...if I need to ear more calories or protein, so I find I do just fine. How do you like it? what does it do for you?
  • This sounds like a great workout for when you're travelling or something.
  • I definitely have a hard time with some of the moves but I am learning pretty quickly. I use a hrm and I've found that turbo fire gives pretty good burn in comparison to other workouts, and it's fun so I love it. My favorite is the hiit ones. They are short and burn a lot of calories!
  • Hey I am starting turbo fire around the 7th of jan. I am doing some of the videos now but I'm going out of town this week so I decided to start on the 7th. I also rearranged a few of the videos to facilitate my running schedule but I would love to get some motivation from others doing the program. Will there be a group?
  • Some people can do it, especially if they're early morning exercisers. If I workout without eating, I don't perform as well, I feel weak, and it hurts. I always make sure I have something in my stomach.
  • Welcome! You are pretty similar to me (I'm 5'7) and I am currently at 155. I love me some cardio as well and try to do it 6 days a week as well. I'm finding that it definitely takes time since we don't have too much to lose, but if we keep with it we will definitely reach our goals! I found that posting here has held me…
  • My hrm usually seems pretty accurate, and I don't have much to lose so I know my burns aren't as high as others. I was just surprised by this particular workout and how it sometimes read 90. Its not like it wasn't registering because it still said a number, that's why I am confused. It definitely wasn't having a problem…
  • I am both training for a 10 k and doing turbo fire. I am not waiting for the new year to start, but that's what I'll be doing next year. Then I'll probably go back to insanity. I love insanity.
  • I was debating which beachbody program to start because I've done videos from all of them. I recorded my calories burned using a hrm while trying out the videos and was surprised to find that my biggest burn was from all tf workouts. I was going to do p90x but changed my mind and am starting tf soon. At first it pissed me…
  • On that note, I got a hrm and found out I was drastically overestimating the number of calories I was burning, and that can be bad too.
  • I just started p90x on tuesday, but I'm doing the lean schedule because I just don't like spending that much time out of the week doing strength training, and I love cardio. I'm also incorporating training for a 10k run in there too because I can't stand only doing strength in a day, I need cardio daily. I am excited…
  • Oh and I will put up 'before' (current) photos when the challenge starts. I always find pictures to be the most motivation.
  • This sounds fun Name: KP (Pickles) Current weight: 155.4 Ultimate goal weight: 135-140 In 90 days: Lose 8lbs, make running part of my lifestyle
  • Usually between 250 and 500. I used to think it was a lot more until I got my hrm. I figure, as long as I'm working out every day and adjusting my calorie intake based on my calories burned that day, I'm good.
  • Does it have a chest strap?
  • I never did turbo jam or chalean because I just plain didn't like the look of where they were working out (sounds weird I know). I haven't done turbo fire as a program but have done several of the workouts. I have found (using my hrm) that turbo fire dvds seem to be the best workout for the time, especially the hiit…
  • Yes I have a heart rate monitor with a chest strap. I love it and it seems pretty accurate. It's always good to know how much I'm burning because I used to over estimate. Also I can figure out which dvds are more worth my time.
  • I used this on Christmas Eve and I burned 254 calories and was very sore the next day. I'm usually not sore after Jillian workouts. I hated it at first because it uses some yoga moves that are hard, but I really got into it and it was nice that it is completely different than her usual workouts.
  • When I set up my HRM, it gave me the option to calculate and input my minimum and maximum HR zones. I used a couple of difference forumulas and came out with different answers, so I just put the maximum quite high, and it never beeps at me even though I push myself to my max. Is there a setting where you can either turn it…
  • I have been doing quite random workouts (mostly workout DVDs). Here is my new plan, starting today (why wait for the new year?): Monday: Strength/Yoga, maybe some light cardio if I have a lot of time Tuesday: Run 2.5 miles + Stength (lower) + 30 mins optional extra cardio Wednesday: 30 mins crosstraining + abs Thursday: 2…
  • Im interested. It will be right when I am able to pick it all back up again
  • Bump
  • Yes I was also going to suggest boxing/kickboxing. I would say I am in pretty good shape but I tried the P90x Kenpo video and I was SHOCKED that I was sore in my arms the next day from all the punching. I do weights and stuff, but the punching made my muscles sore! It must be a great workout.
  • I'm definitely honest without being rude. I believe that the best way to learn is to teach (in life), and this applies to MFP too- the best way for me to learn is to look at other people's choices and think about them as well as my own. Add me if you'd like!
  • Tracking your calories not only allows you to see what you're are really eating, but it also holds you accountable for what you're eating as well. I usually put in my next planned meal before I eat it, which makes me really think of the choices I will be making and how it will affect the rest of my day. Good luck!
