Joined in January of 2009. I find most of the forums frustrating. I have a few that I like to check in with. D

Back in November that was my diagnosis as well. I have found that wearing a small runners knee brace on my knee that I picked up at Walmart has been a lifesaver! So happy you have found the answer! D

I hated water...then I did these things... I bought a quality water filter. I use Aquasana. I drink with a straw. I use fresh lemon as needed. I use herbal and high quality (low caffeine) teas. The kind you have to strain. I use them very dilute...one tsp for 3-4 cups of water and even then I often re-use the tea leaves.…

That is amazing!!!! 4years!! WOW! I was born and raised in Western New York, went to college and lived in Steubenville, OH for 14 years, but husbands job brought us back to Buffalo. We now live in Orchard Park, NY (near the Buffalo Bills Stadium. Both areas have a big homeschooling presence. My husband was born and raised…

That is what I think, too!

I live in Western New York but I cannot live without going to the Ocean at least once per year...i try for more...So far in 2012 I have been to the Pacific and the Atlantic getting my feet wet both times!!! I walk along Lake Erie a lot and pretend it is the Ocean...but it isn't. We hope to retire near the Ocean or Gulf. D

ALWAYS!!! But then I remember the truth!! The truth is that .... when I was 63 pounds over weight, I was often depressed and grumpy. Now, we laugh and have fun together. When I was 63 pounds over weight my free time was spent reading novels. Now we play together. When I was 63 pounds over weight an outing was McDonalds.…

I felt the same way. My friends who I had met on here were my parade and cheerleaders! I do consider it a "flaw" for MFP that there isn't more attention given to meeting your goals and then maintaining. I wish there were tickers for maintenance and I wish there was something for the feedback column... Today mine would…

I read through the thread as well and I think that the Christians are doing more damage than good over there. I know their intention is to evangelize but that is not the way. I am sure that both of these will soon be deleted. D

I eat most. If I eat too many, I start to gain again. D

Good for you! It sounds like you are doing the right things! My prayers and encouragement go out to you! Can't wait to hear more about your success!!! As for comments...I think everyone means well but when encouraging someone the sarcasm is best left out. Don't let it get to you. You will find good friends on here who will…

I joined in January of 2009. I feel like I am old and new at the same time. I have been maintaining for over a year but still come here to log and stay on track. I think it would be really easy to slip back into old ways without the constant support. D

good for you!!! That is awesome! D

Even though no one seems to be reading this, I wanted to follow up. I went on vacation and walked all over San Francisco, Hollywood, and LA. I hiked the rugged hills of Sedona, Muir Woods and some in the Grand Canyon. I walked beaches and climbed hills...and all without pulling my knee. The answer was the knee braces that…

You all have the right idea! I homeschooled 3 boys from K-12. (25, 22, 19 now) I found the mini trampoline to be a necessity and "punishment" was a run around the house regardless of weather (we live in Buffalo, NY). Frequent breaks, or switching subjects every 20 minutes also helped. We learned lots of memory things by…

Thank you Patti! Your reply is actually VERY helpful! D

Thanks for the post. I would love to follow this as my sister is in the beginning stages of a divorce and of course the hope of annulment is there. She has been to two priests, her spiritual director and parish priest, both have acquiesced as much as possible that she has grounds. It is a difficult position for priests to…

I am very far from perfect but this is what I aspire to! This is how I want to eat and feed my family! Hope to follow along! D

After 20+ years of homeschooling I feel like we have done everything! We have had great years and we have had difficult years with moving, complicated pregnancies, job loss, etc. I have learned that in all things God is faithful!!! I love the philosophy of Classical curriculum and incorporate as much as I can, but the…

They are different numbers. Raw bacon vs Fried bacon. Here is a link. Raw bacon has 139 calories. Fried is 42. So the grease in the pan should be counted. http://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/usda/bacon-(cured-pan-fried-cooked)?portionid=33870&portionamount=1.000 D

I have been in bed sick since Tuesday so no exercise since. My minutes are only 385 for the week. My weigh in is 125.4 That is a loss but I think it is fluids...so I am not getting too excited. D

Congratulations! What an amazing accomplishment! D

Thank you!! I have been craving quiche lately and this will hit the spot perfectly! D

105 tonight!! so 390! It takes such effort to get out the door and do this thing! I though by now it would be a lifestyle and therefore not be hard anymore but it still is. NSV...I lifted tonight and was able to get through my entire routine in less time and with my recently upped weights (which are still light by many…
