I am doing a half marathon in October. I am using the personal running trainer app on the iphone and I love it. A friend of mine is using the galloway plan. I also have a marathon in January.

I Love their ice cream sandwiches!!! I always get excited when I have extra calories at the end of the day and that is my treat! I always have them on hand

If I know I am going to run that night I will up my calories throughout the day that way I am fueled for my runs. You can also drink a protein shake after too. That is how I get my extra calories if I hadn't eaten enough that day.

I have definitely been there. It wasn't til I signed up for my first race that I started working out regularly cause I didn't want to embarrass myself. Now I am in school for an exercise science degree and I have stayed on track for the past 2 months!

I am sure it was a combination of both.... However I can say that when I have tried to lose weight in the past and still drank them religiously I would work hard and only lose about a pound a week so I do think it hinders weightloss.
