Every runner experiences this. I am just beginning to start running again and every time I do a 10k or 5k powerwalk/jog on the treadmill I go through this. Its just another contest you can win!

You look good! Well done

Not one! I have managed to retrain myself so I see eating as something I simply have to do each day to stay alive. Its not the be all and end all anymore. That's why I am winning the battle!

Hi Debbie I am sort of doing my own thing and am currently doing 10k and 5k speed walk/jogs on the treadmill. After Easter I will start jogging outside. My first target is the Bupa Manchester 10k at the end of May, but as part of my training I hope to take part in some of the parkrun 5k Saturday morning runs that are…

Took me about 8 weeks, I think I am proud of the discipline I maintained of working out every day at least twice a day for 12 weeks and seeing the sort of results that were better than quite a few contestants on the biggest loser. Done with a smile on my face, no blubbering or tears and no bad *kitten* trainer to spur me…

Speed walking every day has certainly been working for me. As an exercise walking for 30 -60 mins is often overlooked and underrated. If you can find a good woodland or park trail or path there is nothing better imo.

Nothing wrong with pasta though I limit mine to 2 times per week, wholemeal or spelt and never more than 100g and normally 75g with low fat sauces.

Unfortunately this often happens with people who have been over 35 stone and then lost over 50% of that weight. Skin simply isn't elastic enough to contract back once stretched that far. I personally know two people like this one is my younger sister and the other became a bit of celeb when TV followed their journey. Both…

I would second that! I am also the cook in our house so generally when it comes to dinner my wife likes us to sit down and eat the same. This book has made this possible as nearly every meal is less than 600 cals and taste and look substantial. I also skip any wine in the recipes and replace with water and dry fry to avoid…

Good for you! Keep it up!

I did. I exercised twice daily every day, once for 1 hour minimum either Hill walking or speed walking on the treadmill and once for 40 mins speed walking on the treadmill. I also never ate more than 1500 calories per day. No alcohol, no sugar and no processed food. I ate mainly oatmeal made with water, some fruit, lots of…

Brown every time!

I've lost 100 lb from my highest weight (Nov 2011) but since I started in earnest on 29th December 2012 I've lost 77lb in 10 weeks. No pics until I reach my goal weight!

Hi Please feel free to add me!

Veg Kale Spring Greens Spinach Broccoli Green is best!! I rarely eat fruit other than 1/2 a small banana and 2/3 strawberries with my morning oatmeal

I could not have lost what I have this last 10 weeks without porridge (oatmeal for our US cousins) for breakfast each and every day!

Isn't this exactly why most on here are using this site? We are suffering because we live to eat rather than eat to live! I for one would give up my sense of taste if it meant hunger and obesity was banished from the world

This time around I had seen off xmas and had built myself up throughout November and December. I didnt enjoy eating and drinking during xmas as I constantly felt tired and overweight and all the food tasted the same. It was time to bring something different into my life and challenge myself.

you have to ask yourself how much you want it, if you really do all these negative thoughts are just that and can be swept aside. You are in control.

I have a fancy set of scales but I know the Bioelectric impedance Body Fat reading will not be accurate as hydrostatic weighing. However its useful for measuring trends and as long as I do not use one measurement in isolation it provides me with useful information.

I too workout everyday, its been working for me and I have the time but everyone is different.

Congratulations!

I weigh every Saturday morning first thing before eating or drinking and after a bathroom visit. I do Saturday because Friday night used to be binge night on food and wine and was the hardest night to stay good. Knowing that the following morning was when I discover if my hard week of exercise and diet had paid off makes…

hi Please feel free add me. I dont use supplements other than the occasional wheatgrass powder in vegetable smoothies, but I am on a journey to lose 140 lb

Luckily I lost the taste for carbonated drinks in my late teens, in fact I don't have a sweet tooth. If I had, I dread to think how high my weight would have crept to! To be honest I think the diet versions whilst having aspartame are a lesser evil than the full sugar drinks.

Hi I am from Rossendale.

Hi I thought i would join the group. I am nearing a weight whereby I believe I can start jogging again. I am not a novice and have completed many 10k, 10m and 1/2 marathons in the fitter phases of my life. I have just started jog/ speed walks on the treadmill and hope to start jogging outside after Easter. My first target…

I have worked on my psyche over the months to get a perspective on eating and drinking. I have taught myself that it is simply a process to refuel my body and not the most important part of the day. Mealtimes are no more important than a trip to the restroom! This allows me to eat nutritious foods what previously I would…

I never thought I would enjoy being so disciplined about what I put in my mouth and the regularity of exercise. I think I have finally learned that eating is not the "be all and end all"
