When I do venture out it has to be real ale for me, always has been. If any pub or bar does not serve it I will never revert to keg or the fizzy pee that passes for lager in the UK, I drink wine. Luckily most Manchester bars & pubs have at least one real ale and many have a plethora. We have had many great local micro and…

will set my freesat to record. On the same subject watched half a recorded episode of "The men who made us fat" last night. It was the one on how mcdonalds and co and food manufacturers brought out "supersize" I just thank my lucky stars that I wasnt into fast food or crisps or snacks. Otherwise my highest weight of 23.5…

Now every two weeks. Used to do every week without fail but now I am in the most intensive period of training for a half marathon in 4 weeks I cannot allow a rogue result to make me want to reduce back my calories. Calories for exercise energy are more important to me at this time rather than what the scales say.

I eat an awful lot of fresh green leafy veg, bananas and strawberries. for me Aldi and Lidl beat the bigger supermarkets for price. I also notice that their veg seems to have a longer shelf life. However Asda for me is nearest so I use it. I have discovered that my local high street greengrocer is 20% cheaper during summer…

I never find this super food repetitive. I eat it almost every morning made with plain water. I add half a banana sliced up plus a few fresh strawberries or raspberries and a teaspoon of chia seeds.

Thanks Guys lots of food for thought there, my 4th run is what i thought was my endurance run. This progressively has been increasing in mileage as I have gone through the routine. I have already run 10 miles quite comfortably at around 10:15 so I am quite confident in the endurance stakes. What I am aiming for is a time…

No we are not going to agree and I can see most of the people who say they are doing it on this forum and the UK one are mostly young girls out to have fun. Thats fine. But £30 is astronomical for a 5K. However to state that £15.00 per person goes to admin is akin to telling me that the moon is made of cheese. I do have…

As what Sawjer said.

Sorry but I am not convinced. This is a "for profits" organisation ans they clearly state in their FAQ's: "Is The Color Run™ a charity or a non-profit organization? The Color Run™ is not a charity or non-profit organization. The Color Run, LLC is a “for profit” event company. For details on our charity partnerships….click…

Well I seem to have created quite a debate by posting what I considered to be a reasonable post of success. Thanks for all those messages of congratulations and encouragement from most posters. However to the weight loss stazi: I will first say that this is MY way of doing it. I was being seen regularly by a doctor for…

I always do my first session of training in a morning and start between 8 and 10 am. I do this because nearly all the races I intend to enter this summer and autumn start between these times. I could not train for 1-2 hours without my daily bowl of porridge with half a banana, strawberry and raspberry. For me its the…

Holland & Barrett had an offer of buy one and get the second at half price in stores only. I thought they were pretty good when I tried them though at the full price of £2 per pack a touch expensive.

Feel free to add me also.

I am now of the opinion that nutrition and basic cooking skills should be taught from a young age in schools. There are a lot of subjects still taught that are of little or no value in the modern world and take up too much time in the curriculum.

I juice two to three times a week. I try to keep it to green veg, celery and cucumber with the odd kiwi fruit thrown in which is low GI. I always feel that these types of juices re invigorate me after a few days of intensive exercise and are pretty low in calories. I add Wheatgrass powder and Spirulina too. If you get one…
