I have the same problem! I drink a lot of sparkling water and non-caffeinated tea; they're easier to get down.

*sigh* Last post, and then I'm going to bed. For real this time. With respect, I Will Be the Swan, I think your best course of action at this point would be to step back and stop posting. You say that you don't enjoy any of this, and yet you continue to respond, often inappropriately. Hopefully you've learned something…

Edited to delete my comment, because I don't believe this conversation needs to be continued any longer. I hope we can all return to the original point of the thread.

That's what I don't understand. What are you responding to? If there are hundreds of tweets saying "RIP Cory Monteith, your death has suddenly made me realize that you were an awesome dancer and your voice totally outshone the rest of the cast and that's the only reason I miss you," I haven't seen any. No one is praising…

Since when did this become a pissing contest between you and Cory Monteith? Sure, death doesn't make people perfect, but it sounds more like you just don't like the guy. Edited to add: Clearly you've never dealt with the hell that is substance abuse and addiction, and I hope you never have to.

A big problem with "I'm going on a (number)-day fast to lose (number) pounds": what's stopping you from gaining that weight right back once you've finished the fast? The answer: nothing. Focus on changing your eating and exercise habits instead, and make your goal "healthier" instead of simply "thinner". It's hard work,…

I wear two bras when I run: one of my comfortable, everyday bras first, and then a basic Nike sports bra over that. Works like a charm, and also creates a nice little pocket to slip my iPod into. (I'm a 32DD.)

If you open your food diary, you'll get better feedback. Edited to add that 8 pounds in 6 weeks is a good rate of weight loss, and like everyone's saying, you can definitely see a difference already.

Daily, but after I plot that weight on a graph, I don't really worry about it. Every few days/weeks I pull out the graph and make sure that I haven't slowly been gaining over time.

18 years and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hmm... It's my last meal, I might as well be picky. To start: A huge bowl of fresh fruit (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, peaches, apples, etc...) Hot green tea with spearmint Dinner: Grilled wild Alaskan king salmon with lemon, butter sauce, and capers Wild rice Steamed broccoli, green beans, spinach, and…

You may want to re-think this. Strength training + regular activity + enough food = an excellent solution for many people in your situation (and you don't need a gym membership to be successful). Severely limiting your food intake and constantly feeling hungry is neither healthy nor sustainable.

To all the people who are confused that she's increased her calories: She said that she's already read "in place of a road map," which means that she's probably already calculated her total daily energy expenditure (TDEE). As long as her net calories fall below that, she can expect to lose weight. However, she also…

Don't worry! Day-to-day weight fluctuations are normal. The best advice I can give is to make a weight vs time graph. Whenever you weigh yourself, don't over-analyze the number - just plot that weight at the correct date. Eventually, your graph will show not just minor fluctuations, but the general trend of your weight…

I'm driving my dream car: 2003 Volkswagen Golf (diesel, manual transmission). I bought it very used and very cheap, but it was in excellent condition and has never given me any trouble. It's an eager, friendly little creature that knows how to roll with the punches (I tend to anthropomorphize my belongings, okay?). Oh, and…

Two severe food allergies: shellfish and kiwi fruit. Luckily, I don't seem to have any other food allergies/intolerances/sensitivities.

                Great post!

I wouldn't say that this is my favorite line/movie, but it's the first one that popped into my head: "Look up the world 'idiot' in the dictionary. Know what you're gonna find?" "A... picture of me?" "No! The definition of the world 'idiot,' which you f*cking are!" - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Definitely up your net calories. You might want to take it slow; add fifty or a hundred calories per week onto your net until you're within a safe range (above your BMR, at least, but I'd go even higher if I were you). One thing to remember, though: don't get too caught up in the number on the scale. I also used to have a…

Your net calories should fall somewhere in between your BMR and TDEE. Your BMR, or basal metabolic rate, is the number of calories your body needs to keep its vital functions going. It's the amount of calories you'd use every day if, say, you were in a coma. Your TDEE, or total daily energy expenditure, is the total amount…

MFP is designed to allow people to eat back their exercise calories. Many people exercise to create a calorie deficit (in which case you wouldn't eat the calories back). But MFP includes that deficit in the daily calorie goal that it sets for you. If you exercise, and then eat back the calories you burned, you've still…

I could eat those things all day! It seems like you either love them or hate them; I'm happy to be in the "love them" crowd.
