I have to giggle to myself when I find myself standing in aisle comparing labels... but it's worth the time. I actually KNOW what I'm eating when I eat it! It's a good feeling. Sometimes I still eat the junk, but KNOWING that's what it is makes it easier to really limit what I splurge on!

To some degree "fat" is "fat"... but when it come to hydrogenated fats (like in potato chips) there's just nothing your body can DO with that. Why eat something your body can't use?

Just curious... do you know what the difference was in the level of saturated fat? I'm learning (somewhat to my own shock) that the fat we eat serves and important purpose. Fat from nuts is likely going to be better than fat from fried potatoes. But sometimes those "healthful" options are really sneaky!!

I agree with the others, don't get down on yourself. ALSO... the inches could be partly bloating. The rich (and often salty) food from Holidays can really put the bloat on me!! You're doing great! Keep it up!!
