The couch to 5k is a good way to gradually build up! http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

I'm not familiar with WW, but if there are things (like the above poster mentioned) that you can eat to increase calories without going over your WW goals I'd do it! That's a really LOW number of calories, and if you're working out you're likely not giving your body enough fuel!!

There's nothing wrong with what's doing what's ACTUALLY good for you, and not what just feels good in the moment! I'm ten years older than you, and I'll still go out every now and then and have a few drinks and get a little crazy, but I plan ahead for it (time and calorie-wise). Follow your gut.

If I have a day I definitely call it a "free" day (not a cheat day, cause I'm not doing anything wrong!) I don't have one every week, but every once in a while is fine (for me). But I do still log it, just to be cognizant of what I'm eating.

That sounds like a healthy plan! Good luck!

I also just looked at your profile... you're 18 and 111lbs. Your regular workout routine will take care of whatever overage you had. Get some rest! I totally understand the getting toned and being healthy, but you're body is still developing. Take care of it!

Take a break! Rest (intentional rest, not just laziness) is as important as exercise. Listen to your body, and don't punish yourself too bad for going over That's my 2 cents

Yummy!!

Yes to all this! This weekend is karaoke! So I know there will be some adult beverages consumed! Saving all my "good girl" points for that!!
-
Oh wow yum!!!

You can't gain that much overnight, it's physically impossible. Unless you actually consumed 14,000 calories more than your daily intake. I would bet a lot of money that it's water!!

That' is VERY inspiring to hear! My highest weight was also 289, and my goal is 150. I'm currently at 239.
-
You're at a 500 Calorie deficit without ever working out. The calories you burn working out makes that deficit bigger. So if you are hungrier, it's completely ok to eat them. You will STILL be at a deficit. The working out will have cardio and strength benefits aside from just burning calories.

I'm doing my first 5k in 3 weeks, then my next goal is the Warrior Dash. (and I've VERY new to fitness). Thanks for asking this question!

My highest weight was 289. I'm about about 239 right now. We're out here, for sure! Any of you feel free to add me as a friend!! :flowerforyou:

Congratulations!!!! You've done an awesome job!!

I thought the same thing...

This is a good attitude to have. It's a good decision not to skip dinner. If we equate the lifestyle changes we're trying to make with suffering it will be harder for them to stick. Not saying we don't sacrifice sometimes, but we can't make ourselves miserable about! Right back on the wagon... that's the way to go!!

I eat lunch at my desk most days, so I pack it all up. I like the sandwich thin rolls (90-100cal), I put reduced fat cream cheese and a mess of veggies (bell pepper, lettuce, onion, tomato, etc). Makes a hearty sandwich for around 150 cal. I'll take crackers and hummus or apple and peanut butter. I like what someone said…

I was going to say this, but she said it better. I've never really like the name "cheat" day either, I call it a "free" day or just a "blissfully unaware" day (which isn't true, I'm always aware). But I say just have fun!
-
YUM!! I need to try this!

Looking to lose another 90 lbs (I've lost 50 since my highest weight, 20 of those since joining MFP) I'm ALWAYS looking for friends with similar goals/needs.

This! Both of my parents cooked professionally, but never really "taught" me much. I picked some things up from observation. Then just like ^^ she said, I watched cooking shows (quality ones), read good books, and just tried things. I can now do plenty of complicated recipes, and have developed my own intuition with…

^^^ AND THIS... this one I'll actually say was the best thing I've done for myself. I think this has helped the hunger issue, AND I've got way more energy!

As you can see you will get lots of opinions and advice from lots of people on here. Much of it is actually really interesting. There are things I find that I agree with, others I disagree with. Some people are very gracious, while others think there's is the only right answer (we're all still people after all) My…

Congratulations! What a great accomplishment. I'm working on a 5k now, so I know it's quite a process. You should be VERY proud!

Non-Scale-Victory and not a dumb question. Took me a while too
