  • To be honest, most machines like this are not accurate, not even close. In my home gym I have a bike, a treadmill and an elliptical and none of the three show an accurate calorie burn count. I don't know why this is. Maybe because the machines are just estimating, since they don't know our personal stats - couldn't tell…

  • I don't eat them back, because I'm usually not hungry enough, so I'm fine without them. I tend to work out late, it's the only time I have available to hit the gym. By the time I'm done, I'm ready for a shower and some sleep.
  • Gotcha. @oat_bran, I didn't even think to factor in the activity level in what I was wondering here, so that makes more sense. Because I have a desk job, outside of my exercising, I put a sedentary level, so I was basing my example off of that. That helps though, thanks!
  • I'm just seeing this thread for the first time and I think what you're doing is great and I wish you the best of luck. Lots of great advice here from a great community!

In that case, you won't see the results on the scale, but if you were to keep progress photos of yourself, I'm sure you'd see the changes visually on you. Good…
  • ^^ This for me too. But when I weigh myself daily, I don't look at today and yesterday as a comparison. I look at today and last Wednesday. To the OP: 10lbs in 4 weeks sounds great! So from Monday to today is too short of a time frame to see any changes, so it's normal that you might not see anything. If it was me, I…

  • 34 in a few more days here. Looking to change my lifestyle and MyFitnessPal is going to be a big part of that. Looking for new friends too, so feel free to add me.
  • Hello! I'm from Southeast Michigan myself also, just getting back to MyFitnessPal.
  • A little south of Detroit, Michigan.
  • I use a Fitbit Aria scale, and seems to be pretty accurate. I first learned what my body fat % was when I was at a hospital, and when I purchased the Aria, the percentage was off by less than 1%.
