I have a training coach & he has me on a schedule where I work REALLY hard for 2 weeks then take a recovery week. During the recovery week I still run but it's light & usually only 2 times during that week & he incorporates cross training, yoga, swimming, biking in there. It works really well, because when I come off a…

Not me. The problem with the big sports stores is they tend to hire retail people, not necessarily people trained in running shoes. It is OH SO IMPORTANT to find someone who knows what they are doing. We have Peak Performance in Nebraska but again that probably doesn't help you. These places tend to hire experienced…

"If you see me collapse, please hit 'Pause' on my Garmin." Last night I went for a run in the dark & my husband, who has been warning me about safety alot lately, jumped out of the dark & grabbed me! He was proving a point that having earbuds in & no self defense is a set up for danger. Anyway, I screamed and started…

I bundle up in layers & head out! Usually it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be & cool/cold weather runs sure beat the 104+ days we had in Nebraska this summer. When the ice & snow are really bad, I hit the treadmill & grumble my way through it adding incline. It's not safe to try to run on ice, the last thing I…
