Thanks for the feedback! LOL @BobbyClerici and ElExGordo...no definitely not looking at it as a good thing:laugh: Thanks for all the well wishes, too. I'm resting now and working on feeling better. Not worrying about calories at all right now. These questions just pop into my head sometimes and I was curious what other…

My goodness! Honestly, I'm impressed that you've been able to get out to the gym after all that. First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm also an emotional eater. I've been at this for almost two years and I still have trouble sometimes. What helps me is simply getting out for a walk or meditating whenever I feel…

Not a comment towards me but it still made me angry. Was at a restaurant yesterday with my sister. We had just gotten our food and the two guys next to us started talking about some guy they had seen earlier in the day. "OMG, that guy was massive! He was so fat! He had to be like...250!" I was like....but I weight more…
Have you ever served on Jury Duty before? Depending upon the type of trial, they may feed you and very well. Most will take into account dietic needs, (just a heads up).
I've been called 3 times in the last 5 years but never served. They never want me cuz I work for a newspaper company LOL. I'll…

I was very worried about this as well. We usually go to a place that serves pub food and the party is mandatory as it takes place during the work day. Fortunately (or unfortunately) this year, I got called for jury duty and it falls on the same day as the party.

Not necessarily. MFP underestimates how much protein you should be getting. My advice would be to contact your doctor or nutritionist to find out what your range should be: it varies depending on the person. For me, my nutritionist told me too much protein can be hard on the kidneys, especially if you are in the obese…

I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. I can't imagine how hard it must be to see your daughter go through that. Is travel an option for you? Maybe someone from the medicaid office could suggest another place that they would cover. You're right, binge eating won't help. I know it's hard but, try getting out for a…

I would go for it then....wonder what they cost $30-$40 at Walmart

Just used mine actually. I love it but if you have a low desk, you won't be able to avoid hitting your knees as you peddle. I have the Gold's Gym version and haven't had any trouble with squeaking yet. I'm in a cubicle btw and share the room with 25 other people: haven't had any complaints yet :-)

I have Fibromyalgia, PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and chronic migraines. PCOS makes it VERY difficult to lose weight and the fibromyalgia and migraines cause near constant pain: exercise helps but it's so hard to get the energy. I hope you all are able to acheive your weight loss goals. It is hard but it's…

I've had PCOS for about 5 years. My doc told me the pain was from the cysts bursting. It can happen after heavy exercise or just because. Hope you feel better :-( Agree with other people: definitely see your doctor if it's really bad or doesn't go away in a couple of hours.

Un-be-lievable! You look great! Congrats!!
-
Ok, I won't do all of them but I had to share my porn name...Brandon Dix. I wish I was kidding:laugh:

Ouch! I'm sorry. I have chronic migraines so I know what you mean. It might not make it go away but sometimes a hot shower helps me. Just let the water hit the back of your head and neck. Hope you feel better!

Infant clothes on teenagers. If you want to wear a skirt that shows off your almost naked behind, go to the beach. I'm not a prude but seriously, cover up. There's no reason to go to school looking like a stripper...unless you're going to stripper school.

My fiancee is African American, I'm Irish, Scottish, French, English, Italian and German: I definitely took on the Irish/Scottish features, pale skin, freckles etc. My fiancee's niece had three children with a young man who is Puerto Rican. The oldest has dark brown hair with large curls, brown eyes and a dark complexion.…

Other than gastrointestinal discomfort, I'm not sure too much fiber is bad. Too much protein may be hard on your kidneys though. My doc always tells me, if you're going to be over, try not to go over by more than 10.
-
True. Both of my doctors told me this. If you are in the normal weight range, you'll be ok but if you are severely overweight, your kidneys are already working very hard and you don't want to push it until you are in better shape.

Agree. I have tried this but I don't add cheese, just some Olive Oil I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, very little salt, some pepper and garlic powder. I'm sure it does take a lot of nutrients out of it if you boil (I've heard steaming is better). I think this is a much better alternative than potatoes though. It might not…

From what I understand, your body will go after the stored fat first for energy but once you run out, yes, it will go after your muscle.
-
Ok, here's what I know, hope it helps. Calories are fuel for your body. Your body needs fuel for daily activities such as creating blood cells, keeping your brain running, repairing damage, fighting colds, etc, etc. It takes 3500 calories to gain one pound or burn 3500 to lose one. When you lose weight you are losing fat…

Hi! Welcome to MFP! I've only been on the site for a week but, honestly, it really does help. I have over 100lbs to lose and I hear you, it's a daunting task but you can do it!! Feel free to friend request me. Agree with englishjen, set small goals and it won't seem so difficult. Celebrate every loss and try not to get…

This made me cry. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.

I'm with you there! When I started trying to eat healthier two years ago, my doc suggested I keep trying veggies that I was convinced I hated every couple of weeks. Your taste buds really do change every couple of weeks so you never know! I also tried eating some veggies with my eyes closed. When I couldn't see them, I…

I forgot one but this just made me laugh! Someone said "your sister weighs about 100lbs, your mom is 100 lbs more than her, you dad is 100 lbs more than that and you're 100 lbs more than him! You need to lose weight!" I was like wtf?! You know that means I would weigh over 400 lbs right? Where did you go to school? I was…

BTW... and

Wow! These are awful! I can't believe people can be so cruel! But....yes I have a few: 1. I was on crutches because I had gout from eating gross food in Texas. A coworker said "You know, if you lost some weight you wouldn't have gout. You'd be so much better off." What an idiot: clearly she's not aware that ANYONE can have…

Tons of water and fat free milk, too. Caffeine free diet soda is an occasional thing.

My diet basically consists of a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. Either fruit or a protein bar/granola bar for snacks twice a day. Lean chicken or beef, low sodium tuna (rinsed if from a can), soups, frozen veggies (sauteed with very little oil, no salt) and the occasional sandwich for dinner. No sugar added ice…

Thanks for all your advice. There is absolutely no fried food in my diet and I don't eat much bread. I love to cook and rarely eat out. Never have frozen meals either. I think the main culprit is the protein shakes I've been drinking so I'll cut those out. I'll definitely watch the fat intake as well. Definitely had a…
