Agree with the other posters here that fresh food is the way to go. I'm with you on the hot sauce though, I used to be addicted. Now, I just add either chili powder or cayenne pepper (sometimes mixed with tomato sauce-the canned stuff with no spices or salt added to make a sauce). It gives it an extra kick without the…

Chicken breast cubed and sautéed in a little olive oil with chili powder, onion powder and garlic. Over spinach and lettuce, topped with cheddar cheese, crushed tortilla chips and low fat sour cream. Toppings not shown here.

Thank you all for the great ideas! I can't wait to try these:happy:

That sounds really good! Thanks!

I pushed myself to walk an extra quarter mile today. Out of breath but I did it:-)

Request sent:-) I'm looking to lose 160 ultimately. I've been on and off this site for two years. Back now and feeling motivated!

I have fibromyalgia: diagnosed 2 years ago. I feel your pain. Some days are worse than others but I just keep plugging away. I've mostly focused on my eating since I have trouble exercising but I love to walk and wish I could do more of it. I just take it one day at a time:smile: Good luck and feel free to add me!

I tried Portobella (sp?) Pizza and LOVED it! It's just a portobella mushroom cap with pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella and whatever other toppings you like stuffed in the cap, bake in the oven until the cheese is melted: so good! It's different but stopped my pizza craving. Still have "real" pizza every now and then but not…

Six meals a day means 3 regular meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and three snacks, 1 after breakfast, 1 after lunch and 1 after dinner. A meal is any time you eat, be it a large meal or an apple. Very different way of thinking but it helped me a lot. I'm not as hungry throughout the day and my energy level is way up.…

As some others have said...not my first breaking point but the most recent one that kicked me back into gear. Last month my 22 year old niece was diagnosed with acute liver failure (didn't drink, do drugs, eat bad, no pre-existing conditions...no idea how it happened.) She died a week later. She has three children with no…

I was lifting weights at 12 but I also had a personal trainer (been in the weight battle a long time.) I think as long as you keep the weights light (2-3 lbs) and make sure they are doing the exercises correctly so they don't hurt themselves, you should be ok. Also, stick to a time limit (10 minutes?) so they don't over do…

A lot of these make me cry but to add a few that I didn't see on here: Ellsworth by Rascal Flatts Skin by Rascal Flatts Won't Back Down by Tom Petty

I tried this a couple of years ago and the results were amazing. Not only did I lose 20lbs, my stomach felt better, I had a lot more energy, acid reflux was GONE. I slept better, was more focused and I found that my sugar cravings weren't as bad. Unfortunately, I agree with other people that it's great until you go back to…

I mix in a little mayo and add it to tomato soup: so good!

Don't know what your daily goal is but 3 cups of spinach only has about 70mg of sodium. That's VERY low.

The headaches were horrible for me too the first time a tried to quit. Here's how I did it: I first switched to diet soda and then, after a couple of weeks, I switched to caffeine free diet soda. I was still drinking soda and it had a kind of placebo affect so I didn't get the headaches. After a couple of weeks of that, I…

Thank you all for the suggestions! I'll definitely check these out. I did put this on the wedding site forum but I only got a couple of responses with the same website.

1. Any kind of exercise is going to help you lose weight and inches and walking is one of the best things you can do IMO. 2. I'm told that belly fat is one of the last places affected by diet and exercise but: it WILL go away eventually if you continue to exercise and eat right. 3. I wouldn't worry too much about natural…

I'm right there with you! Go to the Community tab and then choose groups. There's a support group for women with PCOS and it's great motivation:smile: PCOS-Cysters-Losing-Together I think that's the name. Good luck!

I have Oikos Fat Free Honey Yogurt mixed with some Jello Sugar Free chocolate pudding. 190 Calories: tastes like chocolate mousse! YUM! And very filling. Also add a piece of fruit.

Try this: tell the nurse about your phobia (agreed with everyone else). Then ask him/her to let you know when they are going to put the needle in. Take a deep breath in and when they put the needle in, let it out forcefully. Then breathe normal. This has always helped me. Also, if you need an IV or blood taken, maybe ask…

Thank you so much for posting this story. It made me remember why I'm here and what I'm fighting for...something that is easily forgotten when you hit that speed bump and get thrown off the wagon. Thanks for the motivation! What a wonderful story first thing in the morning:flowerforyou:

Here's one from MFP I read a while ago... "When the idea of staying where you are is more painful than the idea of the work you have to do to change, you are ready to change."
