I'm definitely scared of this, but I decided I'd rather look like I have more fat than I do because of excess skin, than to actually HAVE the extra unnecessary fat. I am pretty sure there's going to end up being some plastic surgery in my future, so I am starting to save up for it now and I am pretty sure you can get…

You guys who are suggesting the 0-calorie flavored waters - they are sweetened with ASPARTAME which is what OP is trying to avoid. Crystal Light is usually aspartame as well. Some of the flavored waters are sweetened with Neotame which is just Aspartame hiding under a different name. Equal is also aspartame. To OP: After…

Thanks! To be honest, I don't know where it came from. My grandmother passed away in January 2011 and I inherited a couple of her shirts that I liked when I was helping to clean out her bedroom. I'm only just now finally able to start fitting into them. I checked for you and the tag says "Sarah Lawrence Woman". Not sure…

This is a (small) before picture from summer of last year. I don't have a lot of full-length shots, so this is the best I could find. This is where I am as of this morning, at 298.8 pounds. It has taken me these last two months to lose 10 pounds, but I have definitely gotten smaller in that time. Even since 299, my face…

Yep, never go to the grocery store hungry or thirsty, and don't bring the food in your house in the first place! I find new "trigger foods" all the time. I buy something that seems sensible, and then I eat the whole thing and have to adjust my meals to make up for it. Fortunately, I also love to binge on baby carrots, so I…

This is a great thread! Here's my story. (Non-techies should skip the first paragraph) My (then-boyfriend of 5 years) spent several months getting this domain squatting company to give him ownership of a domain they had that was similar to one I started. They were making money off my hard work to build a website because of…

WAY cool! Sent you a friend request. Keep it going!

I prefer the road to the treadmill. I love feeling like I'm actually going somewhere and the treadmill is too easy to give up on and hit the "stop" button. However, I live in Phoenix and it's too hot to jog even at night so the treadmill is where I'll be for the next few months. :( It's a small price to pay for being able…

My knees hurt the first time I started jogging, but then I did some reading. You have to watch your form! Make sure your feet are coming out straight in front of you, not tilted or crooked. Lower your feet in a controlled manner, don't just "fall" on them with gravity. I think a decent test of this is if you can jog at 4.5…

I have been in plateau since the middle of April. After reading several threads on here, I went from a 1000-1500 calorie/day deficit to a 0-500 deficit. It is about 10 days in and I've lost around 5-6 pounds. (I'll know for sure in the morning when I weigh-in.) I feel like this might have been the system shock that I…

I'm near Central and Thunderbird. It's not Glendale but it's pretty darn close to you!

Fear mongering, my (fat, but shrinking) *kitten*. I drank diet soda (several cans/bottles a day) while overeating and got fatter and had really bad lower back pain (in my sacrum/tailbone area) while sitting in most chairs for years. My chiropractor couldn't help, but not for lack of trying. I blamed it on my weight gain.…

Yes, it is possible. Stick to low-fat proteins like very lean beef, chicken, and pork. Low fat cheeses. When you go low-carb, you won't be as hungry after the first few days so you will have no trouble sticking to your low calories. You will definitely feel like crap the first several days and you won't have as much…

Check out Bryan Ganey's story. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/03/the-moment-i-knew-bryan-ganey_n_1397062.html?ref=healthy-living He weighed around 600 pounds and was forced to turn his life around in order to save it. He started by walking while pushing a shopping cart so he could stand for longer periods of time.…

12.1 pounds, first week of a low carb diet on a doctor-supervised program. I quit the program after a few weeks because I didn't like it but I kept off the 20 pounds I lost in those few weeks and have since lost more.

I weigh just under 300 pounds and I'm able to do the C25K program. I'm at the end of Week 3 (my progress is slow because I'm having allergy/blister problems on my feet) but I have been able to complete every step without fail. I have been thoroughly amazed after I read what the goal is for the day and shocked that I can…

Pepper spray, my cell phone, and the fact that I'm probably not the type likely to want to be raped. Maybe in another hundred pounds. :P The cell phone is relevant because I track all excursions outdoors on Endomondo so my fiance back at home can see where I am in almost real-time. If he were to see me straying from my…

You might want to look into http://www.prosper.com/ - it's a community of lenders, meaning you can go there to borrow or to lend and earn interest. I won't pretend to know how the whole process works, but it's definitely a legit site. I'm considering investing some of my savings on there.

If you count pre-taxes, then I'm already at this level. But, I know it's not going to last forever, so I have used the windfall to pay off debt from a failed business, and now I'm tackling the last of my credit card debt and building up a nest egg. And, of course, I'm enjoying a bit of it, too... buying new clothes for my…

First off: It is worth the money? Yes, 100 times yes! It seems expensive for what it does, but unlike a pedometer that can just count your steps, FitBit measures the INTENSITY of those steps, for example uphill steps vs. running steps vs. walking slow steps. Second, the price also includes LIFETIME ACCESS to their awesome…

WOW! You look absolutely beautiful!!! My SW is 343 (near yours) so it's great to see what I have to look forward to!

I did a cross-country road trip a couple of months ago for a total of 4 days on the road and managed to stay within calorie goals with 5-6 meals a day. I agree that you should definitely pack a cooler! Lunch meat, lite string cheese, fruits all will travel well. At the fast food places, always get grilled chicken, NOT…

I love my FitBit too! Been wearing one since last August, and now I have my fiance, aunt, mom, sister, and three friends wearing them! It makes you very aware of your activity level during the day and if you love neat charts and graphs, you'll be motivated to park a little farther away or take the stairs to get a better…

Me too! I live near I-17 and Thunderbird. Arizona native. I need a good reliable workout buddy too, for weight training or walking. I'm in week 3 of C25k so one day I'll be a jogger as well. I also like to hike but it's too hot to do it now... maybe a good night hike with flashlights. :D

Started December 1st, 2011 at 345 lbs. Now down to 294.5. Always looking for those in a similar weight range for motivation, gave and received!

Wow!!!! You have done an amazing job! Very impressive that you seem to have kept your skin tight. Any secrets? :D

Yuck! Maximum ugly! Even when Sinead and Natalie did it.

Wow! Nice definition there! Looks great! :D Your skin is looking a lot better, too, I might add. :)

The best advice I can give you is to get the junk out of your house. Don't buy it. If you want it, you'll have to leave the house and buy it. Keep healthy snacks like veggies (pre-washed and cut) so that it's more convenient to snack healthy.

If you wanted something discreet you could have gone with a FitBit. I clip mine to my pants pocket and no one ever notices it's there. If anything it looks like a cell phone or MP3 player clip. The bra is even more hidden. That's part of the reason I went with the FitBit over the Bodybugg or Bodymedia fit. But, who cares…
