  • Being motivated is better than not being motivated. So.. nothing wrong with wanting motivation as much as you can. Of course motivation doesn't always show up. But, I find going shopping and trying on clothes motivates me. Looking at my current progress photos helps too. And ..coming here, to MFP.. to read posts..often…
  • I take a photo of myself in yoga pants and a camisole. It shows everything. and is a great motivator. Were I you? I'd go shopping for your mother of the groom dress. That will motivate you more than anything.
  • That plate of food looks so good! Looks like you've got it figured out. Congratulations.
  • I think this one is better than any number on a scale. The entire airplane scene is the worst for many reasons. At least that irritation is history. Congrats!!
  • I find what works for me and stick with it. And, I keep it simple. I was making it more difficult cooking all sorts of recipes and ideas..mixing things up. Now .. I stick with key meals that consistently result in weight loss. And, I do an enjoyable easy exercise that works. less is more.. and less of me.
  • That's exciting to reach a goal like that. Great job. It is a milestone..
  • The answer to your question. Is, yes. You can lose weight most effectively by your diet. I did read a study years ago.. and who knows .. just another study. But it determined that diet ..or what you eat is what leads to weight loss. and Exercise is what keeps the weight off when at goal. .. I think that's pretty much true.
  • "Misery is optional? ha.. that's my new favorite quote!!!
  • What a great question. I do believe that there are natural ways to suppress appetite. It does come down to individual finds and some are shared by many. But, coffee surpasses my appetite. I find some foods do also ..other foods make me more hungry. I think a food diary is a great idea to chart what works and what is…
  • throw the carbs out of the house. not there.. no carbs to binge.
  • The way I read your post.. is that the drug is taking the pain out of losing.. but you're losing the same way as you did before.. controlling your calories..getting fiber and eating right. It isn't like the drug is melting the fat off of you.. When you get the weight off…I think you could maintain by continuing eating…
  • are you exercising too? Starting extreme exercise will halt weight loss for a while. Then it kicks in. However.. so FRUSTRATING!!!
  • No harm in trying that to see if you lose better…. some swear by not eating them..others eat them all and swear by that. bottom line.. we are all different and by trying different strategies you could stumble upon something that really works for you. Best of luck. I hope it does work.
  • I disagree.. these stretches keep injuring the foot. massage your foot with oil.... and the tendon between the heel and calf... but don't do heel dips or anything else "experts" suggest. It keeps the pain on coming.
  • I'm so sorry about your dad. I know you realize no one would want you to take care of yourself, more than he would. It sounds like you are doing a pretty good job during the day..and fall off at night. Do you think you could appeal to your husband to keep snack cakes and sweets out of the house? Any foods that trigger you?…
  • I vote you don't use it until you do some research and talk with your doctor and dietician. If you are polling the general public on here on what decision to make. You are not ready to make that decision. This is your health.
  • The foot problem.. gosh.. I had that for a few years. I tried everything. This is what worked for me; AS someone mentioned.. go on amazon and they have toeless compression anklets. those can help tremendously. I also found gel heel protectors a godsend.. you put them on under your socks… they cushioned my feet while…
  • This is why I like the word "journey". as in weight loss journey. Looks like you're well down the road.. You're doing an amazing job..and you've come a long way. Well done.
  • Get the right dress or outfit that makes you look the thinnest and Spanx. Get your hair done.. and wear super cool shoes.
  • There is no need to be nervous. It isn't a binding contract. It is just getting objective professional skilled help with food. My husband goes to one he loves..and he is doing great. No doubt, there are lousy dietitians too. So.. it is a two way street.. go.. and give it a chance..and if you don't vibe with him or her..…
  • Major credit to you! You did it… total transformation. I'd never think you were ever overweight. simply amazing job.
  • you're obsessing over a small detail. You're losing weight and have your hair done. Be happy!
  • I think it is salmon?
  • All I know.. is when I'm tired or slow.. I need fuel/food. Try eating before your run.. and include a complex carb. See if that helps. If you are eating at a deficit..it very well could be lack of calories to fuel a run.
  • thank you.. that was fun great video. appreciate the suggestion to watch.
  • Why not try it.. My husband has been losing very well.. going off his diet for a 24 hour period every week. It is insane ..but works for him. ( and it is fun…but he doesn't binge. .just eats out two meals a dinner and lunch the next day).
  • there is always that fear that .. "I'm stuck forever at this weight, I'm broken." But nah.. you are not.. we are not.. those of us who think that too. You lost a good amount and your body is adjusting. No one loses consistently.. stick with it. It is our insecurity whispering negative thoughts. Keep making your real…
  • Reading this thread is a nice dose of reality. The work never ends…which is okay. Because we are in this together. The illusion that the work ends at a goal weight, is the lie we tell ourselves. best to know that maintainers struggle as much as those on the weight loss journey. They just look better doing it.. ha.
  • I know exactly what you mean.. I am the same. I do get a waist.. at the every end of my weight loss. Go ahead and do side bends.. I do. But .. simply losing all your weight will give you more shape. I don't agree with the person who said your basic fat shape will be your goal weight shape. not so with me. But right now I…
  • Right.. just like MFP and counting calories ..tracking..working out. … pretty sure all of us have lost and regained many many times on that plan …. I bet you have also. so? what is your point is????
