Wow..that's rough..and we understand how eating comfort food is a reflex. We've all done that. You need to put yourself first. This is a stressful time and you need to count on yourself to get though. Look at it as self preservation. You will come out of this looking great and having great health.

The trick, is to always jump right back on your plan. You can also analyze ..see if it was too strict for you to stay on and make adjustments. Like more lean protein and add vegetables to fill up your stomach. ..and other strategies to help you curb cravings. It will all be fine.. stick with it. :)

My goal is getting rid of visceral fat. When I read about it…how it Is this live thing that causes insulin resistance, cancer..and every other horrid medical problem.. I decided.. it has to go! I'm making good progress.

I love Tim Gunn.. do you know he exercises in bed? I forget exactly what he does. but he is so vital. That gave me the idea of .. "why the heck not!" I find now I can do exercises on my bed that don't hurt my bony parts ..hips.. joints.. I also use a upholstered bench at the end of my bed to use my thigh master ( Susan…

I listened to a podcast, the topic.. how cutting calories for weight loss.. ends with a lower BMR and major muscle loss. It creates a vicious cycle where regain is almost always likely and the gain is in fat complicating the problem This is why I concentrate on getting I gram of protein for each pound I weigh.. eating…

You have to take control of your life. that means, if your wife is not supportive.. you need to no longer include her in your goals. See your doctor and explore the possibility of getting on ozempic or the like. It takes away the "food noise". that makes people binge. I'm not on it.. but someone close to me is.. and it is…

how you lose it. .is how you have to maintain it. so .. if you love bread. losing keto.. is a trap. just my opinion.

look at your stats and try to learn .. sometimes seeing it.. a connection happens. I noticed the 67 calories of exercise. if that was 800 calories for exercise…you would have been just 700 over.. or if you ate a bit less you'd be just 400 or 300. You could make that up by staying on plan and exercising extra the next day.…

I admire those who can weigh themselves and be unemotional about the fact the scale goes up and down. My husband uses the scale for information. He knows what foods make him gain.. what activities.. he looks at it as so interesting. He is down 50 pounds. But many weeks ..he's gone up ..then back down later. It happens ???…

worked for me also, I find at times a website will have a glitch where things like this don't work for a few hours.. then it gets fixed.

You ask a really good question; that make each of us think. "What has worked for consistency during my successes." I agree.. meal prep for the week clear out any temptations from the house .. or all of them.. be loyal to the time of day where exercise is easy..and stick with that time. If you find a time of day where you…

I'm big into gut health now..and fermenting foods and studying about different microbes . There are certain probiotics that have been studied that do reduce visceral fat ..which is around the stomach. so? yes, you sort of CAN spot reduce. However.. the studies always mention it isn't a huge loss..but does contribute.…

I always give my voodoo advice.. to eat a cheat meal . .maybe two days in a row.. then continue on. When I was stuck in the same place years ago.. going off my plan for two weekend meals. And, yes, my loss was jumpstarted again. . I'v e done it a few times now..

It is a big deal, losing that much weight and being on your way to a more healthy you. so glad you shared.. it inspires the rest of us. Don't put yourself down because you don't look like some crazy perfect image you hold in your mind. We all do that silly thing. Bottom line, you've shed weight and are starting to realize…

wow.. so impressive. congratulations!

Your advice does help. Thank you. You look really good.. and don't look obese (hate that word). but you've come a long way.. congratulations on finding what worked for you.

You may be serious or this could be a joke. Either way.. you made me laugh.

berberine will ruin your gut microbiome if you use it for long term. fyi.

I find when I resist stuff like that, my willpower gets stronger each time.

You said out loud what we all have said to ourselves at one time or another. Keep moving ahead.. we all support you and can relate. Dust yourself off…and keep at it..

@csplatt …. I don't typically count calories. I go through phases when I do. Right now I am. just to check myself. I lose weight best when I follow a plan I have done my entire life that always works.. six meals a day 3 ounces protein, vegetables and .5 cup of complex carb or low sugar fruit.. I try new things … but always…

Maybe shake things up and try something different? I have been trying to lose weight by eating 15 grams of net carbs a day and going grain and sugar free. I'm still as chubby as ever. .. Maybe it is because I was encouraged to eat full fat foods on this way of eating. This is simply not working for me. It sure does for…

I, like many of you, have lost and gained the same amount of weight over and over in my lifetime. For me.. my scream weight gain is 20 to 30 pounds. I've noticed we all have our upper limit as I read posts. So..this time what does "concern" me ( instead of losing weigh to look my best and feel good).. is my acquired…

You'll hear all kinds of advice on this one... A simple way to figure it out is to not eat late at night for one week.. see if you lose more weight, or not. ( be sure to be honest with yourself and eat the same amount) see what works for you. I hear most recent advice from functional doctors to not eat late at night so the…

And I apologize if this sounds too honest or perhaps even unfriendly. I just shared what so many of us are thinking but too scared to write out loud :) [/quote] I'll say what I feel about you out loud. You are bitter because you've been through a hard time and are jealous of people who seem to have it easier. :)

I understand what the original poster means. Dieting is a positive all-consuming activity .. and when one makes goal. Yeah.. there's a feeling of "now what?" Also .. there's an adjustment; finding clothes that look good.. body dysmorphia ... friends and family saying you look sick... the list goes on and on. Being consumed…

I don't think any of us ever lost what we planned or hoped..but we were close enough. Just like you. I'm glad you decided to be proud .. you are moving ahead.. looking ahead.. that's all that matters. Congrats.

It is irritating for sure. The fitness part is going to pay off.. and the food part.. I guess you have to tweak. I'm going through the same thing. I've looked hard at what I'm doing and found a few things I can do differently. It is frustrating, because there has been effort but no pay off. Funny, how in our minds; when we…

only thing I could blab.. is a all protein diet does work and very well for a while.. the danger is a year or so in.. when the gut microbiome dies and suffers due to lack of plant based foods ( probiotics and prebiotics) that feed the good bacteria in the gut that keep immune system working. I am grain free and sugar free…
