it would depend on how obese they were. borderline, then yeah. but being 120kg+ then probably not. but just because someone is obese or overweight doesn't mean that they're not fit or strong, or that they aren't knowledgeable. some fat people are fitter than skinny people. if the trainer were fat, but was fit and knew what…

as if peanut butter isn't good for you. what a load of bull. have you looked at the amount of poly and monounsaturated fat is in it? do you know what health benefits that has? also bacon has a lot of sodium. do you know what a lot of sodium can do to you? people can eat whatever the hell they want. it doesn't have to be…

haven't decided yet! I'm making goals along the way. my 10kg goal is to see a personal trainer for 14 weeks, I start next week yay! not sure what my 15kg will be. maybe a HRM. or maybe I'll wait to 20kg for more sessions.

22lbs in 4 months. slow compared to everyone else, perfect pace for me though!

well it depends on if you want to be healthy and feel good. if you do, exercise is vital. if you don't care about being healthy and rather spend the day being tired, then exercise isn't so important. exercise makes weight loss so much easier. :)

you can definitely lose 50lbs. I didn't questions whether or not I could do this, I just went for it. I've got a total of 58lbs to lose, it's a lot but I can do it. :) I'd say though... I think it would be really hard to lose that much on a strict diet. be realistic, be patient, stay motivated... and the results will show.

my very saggy swimmers!!! ordered another today, can't wait. but seriously, they look so bad.

been on this journey for 4 months and haven't plateaued yet. however, I've had weeks where I haven't lost, or I have gained. that wasn't a plateau, but rather me not putting in the required effort to lose weight. I think you'll find it hard to maintain 2lbs/week eventually, and the weight loss may slow down. that's normal,…

that's why I don't talk about it with people, unless they're being positive and genuinely interested in what I'm doing. I've heard of stories where people's friends/family stop talking to them or have a weird reaction to them losing weight. I think it's probably due to their insecurities. whenever someone gives me a…

I do 40/30/30 perfect ratios for me. but it depends on what works for you.

I'd actually say have something that's sweet, just a small amount of it and make sure you have enough calories for it. But I guess that's not what you're looking for... so I'd suggest yogurt (specifically tamar valley no added sugar). Add some frozen berries, or freeze the yogurt as it goes well. Milk has 12g of sugar and…

well I was only 18 2 years ago but... - the sooner you work on your back, the better - forget about the health at every size, you have a back to look after and weight loss will help it - you may be passionate about your chosen career, but don't be so sure - you may change your mind. don't talk yourself out of other careers…

actual: recreational officer / social work student dream: I thought my dream job was to be a social worker... I'm thinking it may actually be police officer. hmmm.

Started at 101.4kg (223.1lbs) Currently at 92kg (202.4lbs) Initially my goal was 75kg (165lbs) I think I might change it to 72kg (158.4lbs), lowest I'd go is 70kg (154lbs). I want to be fairly lean so it'll depend!

not to be rude (but this will make me sound rude anyway) I thought there were already heaps of threads on this topic (but that actually has scientific evidence to back it up...)

when I lose 10kg total (so close!) I'm seeing a PT for 14 sessions (pay for 12, get 2 free). I'm a student so my wallet will hate me for this but I really want to see a trainer!

weetatbix for dinner? I mean I think cereal for dinner is awesome (even though I don't eat cereal) but what about other foods for dinner? okay looked at your profile, you're a vegetarian hence there being a lot of carbs. I'd suggest adding quinoa and legumes as they're a good source of protein when you're a veg. add much…

I'm 20 and have scoliosis, felt ridiculous that someone my age should have a back as bad as I do. I started exercising a year ago, only started losing weight less than 4 months ago. I got to the point where I realised core strengthening and staying active only took me so far, and that my back would be so much better if I…

as soon as you know what you're doing. it's important to have a plan/program before you start, and ensure you know how to do those exercises with good form. start after that.
