7 days done. (copied from the other thread): A friend and teacher of mine suggested when we set goals we ask three questions (she got this from a Ted talk): 1. Can I do it. 2. will the outcome be what I want 3. is it worth it. Regarding my dry January: I can do this, in fact so far it's not hard, just taking some…

Day 7 done and dusted. A friend and teacher of mine suggested when we set goals we ask three questions (she got this from a Ted talk): 1. Can I do it. 2. will the outcome be what I want 3. is it worth it. I can do this, in fact so far it's not hard, just takes some mindfulness. Will the outcome be what I want? I hope so. I…

It's gone down a few pounds since Jan 1. I'm figuring some is 'bloat' and some is from me dieting and one or so from the extra calories I'm not drinking weekly.

One bump for the night crowd. 🤓

Day 7. Today's the first day the scale didn't go down any. Must be that I've gotten rid of the glycogen stores/water weight. Now the real journey begins. Hubs made an amazing cauliflower and cashew soup last night. MAN that was good! Today's activity: 30 minutes on the treadmill, and Yoga for strength class. Br: two egg…

Six days done. So far so good. School (work) starts tomorrow. So I'm sure I'll be wishing for an after work glass of wine. But, the scale is ticking downward, so that's motivating me!

I've slept great every other night so far. Fascinating.

So those dinners and weekends you *can* make good choices... It's a start. I travel a lot for work as well. I just get into a mind set of: dinner, not a special occasion.

Can you prepare your own meals?

I'd rather have 0/4 than 1/4. But glad you've found something that works for you.

If you can master the cheese one, let me know.

Perhaps it should be 20,000? If ludwig is correct, and it's 200ish a day....we'd be at 73,000. PS: I adore Marion Nestle.

I counted up. The *one* thing I'd caution you about is assuming all the symptoms will magically end when you hit the date. Mine changed a bit once estrogen got low enough, but they didn't end.

My doc suggested benadryl "as often as I needed" during the transition. When I looked worried he said the effects of lack of sleep would be harder on the body. Now I use CBD oil and melatonin. But I'm on "the other side" now.

@silvergirl133 I re-read parts of the book as well. Or rather I listed to parts of the book. Then a dear friend who has an industrial scanner scanned in my print book. So much easier now to search for things! The scale is cooperating a bit. And I've been sleeping well too. yay. Today, day 4. exercise: a noon jog, and a…

What about... green VEGETABLES? Your list is arbitrary. And your distinction between bananas and brown rice doesn't work. Sorry.

Leftovers.

In this case it was one of their "experts". But even then, it's not an accurate statement. I know very few keto folks, or low carb folks that "eliminate" carbs. "Control", "limit" perhaps but not eliminate. This brings more confusion to the discussion. I see this often on here when folks say they "tried Atkins" and then go…

Hubs grins and bears it, but I know he hates fish. I always offer him something else. But I think he feels like he's insulting my cooking by not liking fish (and come one we both know he's a better cook!).

I wish the AP style book would have a listing/definition for "food groups". That's a pet peeve of mine as well. Now I have to go and read the whole article. 😜
