Long time maintainers how do you do it
I'd like to hear from other folks who've maintained their weight loss for several years or so. What do you do to maintain? What sort of lifestyle changes did you make while losing or after that made it easier (or possible?) to maintain your loss? And, are you active/do you exercise regularly? What works for you? Thanks. It…

Preparing for the new year
Good morning! I'm slowly, quietly preparing for the new year (I do believe in resolutions) and will be doing an "audit" of my eating pattern. I do an audit of our finances (are we using that gym membership, has the cable company slipped things in...), and I usually do an audit of my eating as well. Taking it back to…

washing workout clothes in Oxy Clean
Does anyone else wash their workout clothes in oxyclean or peroxide? I rinse them after I work out, and only wear them once, but then once a week I wash all of them in oxyclean. It really helps with the left over odors. Anyone have another solution?

CBD oil
I'm ready to declare it: CBD oil is very helpful for my remaining symptoms and I wish I'd tried it more thoroughly earlier. Much more useful than any other supplement I've tried.

2019 Reboot
I think it's becoming a tradition for me to do an annual "audit" of my eating and a reboot of SB Phase 1 after the holidays. This year I begin my reboot with about 15 extra pounds after menopause and some medication changes. So the reboot has a dual purpose this year! I'll be reviewing everything I eat and determining if…

OK! Need ideas for asia
I'm heading to Asia this weekend, and while I'm normally "slow carb" I want to be low carb in Asia. I'll mostly be in Japan. I adore sashimi, so that's good. I'd love some advice, hints, tips for eating low carb in mostly Japan. I know sauces are an issue. I'd love breakfast ideas for one. What else should I be thinking…

About those tampons and pads
A friend posted on facebook that many homeless women and women in shelters don't have proper tampons or pads. They are sometimes forced to use plastic bags etc. My friend was encouraging folks to donate tampons and pads to a health care organization that works with homeless women and women in shelters. So that's what I'm…

Rhythms-after menopause
I'm almost two years past (whoa!) and have noticed that sometimes I feel grand, and sometimes not so much. I'm starting to notice a pattern, a cycle to it. Has anyone ever continued to track their "cycles" in order to predict crankiness, food cravings, extra hotflashes etc.... after? TIA

Regarding shiritaki noodles
I know these noodles are a "love em or hate em" food. But for those of you who like them, I recently discovered that if you crack an egg into the skillet while you're dry frying them, the egg sticks to them, and any and all sauces you add stick better too. My favorite is: noodles, 1 egg, ham or prosciutto, spinach, a few…

Does insulin resistance cause fibromyalgia?
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/05/190507145523.htm A newly confirmed link with insulin resistance may radically change the way fibromyalgia and related forms of chronic pain are identified and managed I think many of us would say: no surprise!

Perhaps this helps explain the weight gain
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2311418/ "Menopause stages and underlying FSH changes are associated with notable changes in levels of the metabolically-active adipocytokines and ghrelin and these changes may be related to selected health outcomes observed in women at mid-life."

Shiritaki "miracle", "smart" "konjac" noodles, who loves them?
I'm sure there have been threads on them before, but I wanted to learn more ideas for how to cook (simply) with them. My favorite way to eat them is just pan fried with pesto and spinach. Does anyone else eat them, and how?

A note from your resident SLOW carber
Hi. I'm the resident SLOW carber in the group. Yes, this is the "low carb" daily forum. And this group has been my best "home" on MFP because the carbs I choose are much like the carbs the low carbers choose. I've been eating slow carb since 2003. I aim to eat foods that have a low glycemic load to keep my blood sugar…
