2019 Reboot

I think it's becoming a tradition for me to do an annual "audit" of my eating and a reboot of SB Phase 1 after the holidays.

This year I begin my reboot with about 15 extra pounds after menopause and some medication changes. So the reboot has a dual purpose this year!
I'll be reviewing everything I eat and determining if it is in keeping with my goals.

Today's plan:
30 minute slow run on the treadmill, and if the weather holds, yoga at noon.

br: left over lean steak, egg, spinach
sn: small peppers
lu: Salad with herring
sn: babybel or some nuts
di: cilantro chicken in the crockpot
de: low fat yogurt with some sugar free syrup or jello

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! (fyi for anyone looking in...my plan is obviously not South Beach...but I have been with these guys for years...began juicing daily this past April and see no signs of letting up..it has become a lifestyle).

Also, important to note...I lost 40 pounds on South Beach ... went from 175 to 135...began June 2008...September 2009 I went to my niece's wedding in Spain and felt and looked great...did tons of walking...all because of Dr. A's South Beach Diet. It works. It does. But my needs and tastes have evolved into a more Whole Foods Plant Based Diet.

    Today's Plan:

    Black coffee (2)
    Two, carrot/apple juices
One, mean green (spinach, celery, cucumber, apple, ginger, lemon)
    One, straight up celery

One baked potato with side leafy green salad and Newman's Own Light Italian dressing.

Have a great start to the year, everyone!

Celery organic celery at sprouts today is $2.49 a bunch I can’t afford that to make celery juice. I bought one bunch of regular salary for $1.29 I think so I’ll use that to make my green juice I need to turn my patio into my own private farm vegetable garden.

About a week ago organic celery at sprouts was $.99 a bunch $.99! I can afford that I can’t afford $2.49 for a bunch of celery

Given your fabulous veggie/fruits, have a look at the nutritarian group. You might get some great ideas from them. I know I do.

    Hi, guys, Happy New Year.

I put on about 6 lbs in the past year, and it's time to take them off. I'm going back to Phase 2 more strictly, though I'm not sure I did very well yesterday. I need to reread The Book.

    Today:

Br: V8 low sodium veg. juice, Kellogg's All Bran Bran Buds with blueberries, banana, skim milk
Lu: probably sushi with brown rice
    Sn: pear with mozzarrella stick
Dinner: not sure--mushroom barley soup and either spinach salad or some sort of fish with veggies

Yesterday was OK, except that while I was waiting to get my hair cut, I had a small piece of chocolate--not a sin, but not a really good way to start out. I'm home today, so I can control my selections a bit more

Br: V8 low sodium veg. juice, Kellogg's All Bran Bran Buds with blueberries, banana, skim milk
Lu: spinach salad with the works--hummus, hard-boiled egg, blueberries, tomatoes, mushrooms, wedge of Laughing Cow cheese, sunflower seeds, Clementine, cucumber, carrots and also some Ak Mak crackers
    Sn: pear with mozzarrella stick
Dinner: mushroom barley soup and tilapia with veggies, whole wheat bread slice, cherries

OK, so I finally reread the relevant parts of the book and learned that I've been having too much fruit. I will need to cut back, though, I suppose, if that's the worst thing I've been doing, that's not too bad. I will taper off.

@silvergirl133 I re-read parts of the book as well. Or rather I listed to parts of the book. Then a dear friend who has an industrial scanner scanned in my print book. So much easier now to search for things!

br: scrambled eggs with spinach and feta

di: the last of the chicken, spinach and pesto

Sabine, the key lime pie sounds good. What do you mean by "cooked"? Is it just the boiling water to make the jello, which is then chilled, after which it is added to the yogurt?

    Today:

Br: V8 low sodium veg. juice, Kellogg's All Bran Bran Buds with blueberries, banana, skim milk
Lu: spinach salad with the works--hummus, tomatoes, mushrooms, wedge of Laughing Cow cheese, sunflower seeds, Clementine, cucumber, carrots and also some Ak Mak crackers
    Sn: pear with mozzarrella stick
Dinner: mushroom barley soup and salmon with veggies, Dave's killer thin whole wheat bread slice, pistachios
