MICU nurse here. I work 12 hour night shifts so having healthy food is key or else I hit the vending machines like crazy. I try to do the stairs during my shift (on 7th floor) if able. Otherwise workout on my days off. Anyone can feel free to add me!

I try to only have 1 or 2 a week when I have no time to cook. The few I've tried have been very good but kind of skimpy on veggies so I always try to add more. My favorites are beef merlot and the broccoli and chicken alfredo.

Welcome! I think that most dieticians are somewhat different but I can tell you what mine told me to eat for protein/carbs. If I am eating 30gm of carbs in a meal then my protein is set at 10-11 gms of protein. For a meal with 45carbs she set my protein at 27gms with the theory that the protein helps to slow down the rise…

I agree with the Subway recommendations. Also, most places have side salads so sometimes I'll get a burger/grilled chicken sandwich and pair it with a salad. Try to look up the menu online first if you can. It's crazy how many calories/fat are in some foods that you wouldn't even realize.
