If you're on FB, check the marketplace for a set of dumbbells for cheap.

I went to a podiatrist for mine. What helped was: ice/warm bath - fill one bucket with ice water (so cold that you want to cry) and one with warm water. stick your foot in the ice for 2 minutes, then into the warm water for 1, then repeat a total of 3x. Do this a couple times a day if you can. If you're resting, ice Before…

My little is 10 months too (oldest is 2.5) and I never lost the weight I gained with #1, so I've also got a 50-60 lb loss ahead of me. It seems so daunting right now! Especially because my little guy still wakes at night for a feeding (I'm not nursing) and I work full time, so it's really hard to consistently find time to…

Welcome MrsS - I am new here as well. Congrats on quitting smoking! That, I'm sure, was incredibly hard to do.

This is one thing I definitely need to stop doing - I have a 2 year old who is a very picky eater. I also hate wasting food ... I often end up finishing what she didn't. Need to either put it back in the fridge or become ok with tossing it. I set an alarm at work that goes off every other hour reminding me to get up and…

Hello everyone - I saw the title of this thread and thought "oh, those are my people." I had great success with WW many years ago, and then I "got cute" as my WW leader used to say. Pounds came back over time. I had a baby in 2015 and another one in January and now I have got to take this weight loss seriously because I'm…

I ordered mine yesterday, I think our group starts the 7th so we should have Sundays off. I had a baby in June (my first) and I need to stop using that as my excuse!

So this is another hard part for me. My daughter has some major gas issues and her ped has asked me to limit my diet to restrict foods that may cause gas - no caffeine, and limit things like beans, broccoli, fruits, dairy ... I had been eating vegetarian but now that I can't have dairy or beans, I have to start eating…

Bring your own snack, like trail mix or low fat popcorn. Or tell him you'll share his and then only have a small amount or maybe even bring a sandwich ziplock, put some of his in there, and then that's it for the popcorn.

Chicken or steak and veggies - I wouldn't go too crazy with substitutions/special requests, if you like this guy he may think you're high maintenance if you go in there all hold the butter, no rice, no bread, don't cook in oil, steam my veggies, etc. Not on a first date ... Hopefully the date is going so well that eating…

I talked to my doctor about how I was worried about too much weight gain. I was surprised she didn't bring it up, considering that at 5'5" and 188, I'm basically considered obese. She didn't seem worried at all. That honestly didn't make me feel any better! I'm sure I've already gained at least 5 lbs (I'm 12w). Now that…

June 24th. Last week I finally started exercising again - I had to take several weeks off just because of being too tired, too nauseous, too whatever. During this time I also couldn't eat a vegetable if my life depended on it, so trying to get those better eating habits back.

Thanks ladies for the advice! It's so hard, as someone who has always been overweight and very often on a "diet", to suddenly stop that mentality of "well, I ate xxx calories today so I better go run 4 miles and burn 500 calories and then I'll still have this many for dinner." I'm worried I'm going to gain a ton of weight…

I've had several crazy dreams and they're all sort of bad. I dreamt a co-worker was pregnant and her baby died. One night I dreamt that I was walking through snow that was up to my knees, and I slipped and fell backward and I could feel ice cracking underneath me, and I couldn't pull myself out. One night I dreamt that my…

I never run with music if I'm outdoors. I like focusing on breathing, form, pace, and taking in my surroundings. It's great for clearing my head; music would just get in the way. I generally prefer to run alone (or with my dog, although as she gets older she's slowed down quite a bit) but sometimes running with a partner…

2 hour commute one-way? Ouch. I suppose you can't do much about that, but make a point to be active on non-work days and sneak more activity into your average work day. Example - I also have a desk job so I take my dog for a quick walk first thing in the morning, I park as far away as possible, I only take the stairs, I…

:( This breaks my heart. I'm sorry about your dog. As for what to do when you have a craving. I just have a little something very small, like a little dark chocolate or a few dates. Some can't simply do "a little something" without it turning into a bingeing event, so if that's you .... distract yourself!

I was having this issue too - I would begin a run on Runkeeper, and then Fitbit would double the active minutes which then gave me more calories burned. I tried asking Fitbit and Runkeeper for help but there was none - finally I disengaged Runkeeper from both MFP and Fitbit (I tried only have it linked to one or the other;…
-
Link the 2 accounts. When you eat, log the food in MFP and it will send the info over to Fitbit. I personally only add exercise (on MFP) when it's a non-walk/run activity such as bootcamp because Fitbit will not track steps/activity minutes when you're strength training, or doing yoga, or any exercise that is not "steps".

I heard it's horrible, but some people here swear it's the best thing ever. I'm afraid to shell out the $ for a jar and then hate it.

Interestingly, the 2% has slightly more protein than full fat (20 g in the 7 oz container vs. 18 g). It does have double the fat, but only 40 more calories. Worth it, IMO. (0% fat has almost half the calories, 18 g protein) Oh well. I like the fat.
-
I believe I found the full fat version at Mariano's. I didn't realize it was hard to find! I know Costco doesn't carry the large full fat, which is a bummer. It is the one that has neither 0% nor 2% on the label.

Field hockey Tuesday/Thursdays - that IS a workout. You said you can exercise Saturday/Sunday - that's 4 days of exercise right there. On the other days of the week, do things like walk more, take the stairs, etc., but you're already working out 4 days a week - this is totally acceptable when you're extremely busy. And…

If you eat 1200 calories, then exercise and burn 200, then eat that 200 back (1200 - 200 + 1200) you end up with 1200. If you eat 1500 then exercise 300 and do not eat any back (1500 - 300 + 0) you also end up with 1200. The end result is the same. If you use MFP's recommendation, you should eat back your exercise…

I had my bodyfat % measured with both of those little contraptions that you hold in your hands as well as via measurements by my trainer at the gym, I didn't use the TDEE calculater to figure it out.
-
Never noticed that before, thanks for pointing it out!
-
This is why I prefer to use Fitbit daily expenditure as the "TDEE" - because it's always different depending on how active or inactive I am that day. It seems like mine is probably pretty spot on - none of the calorie spends seem too high based on me not being that sedentary after all. I have Fitbit set to a 500 calorie…

Yes - that Monday and Friday were both bootcamp days (which I do log manually, because I don't take very many steps during bootcamp) and that Thursday on the list I had gone for a run. When I log a run or bike ride using Runkeeper, Fitbit does double up on the activity and I end up having to delete it. I have a Fitbit One,…
-
I find that Fitbit does duplicate Runkeeper - I always end up having to delete the Exercise log from Fitbit so it doesn't double up.

The only running I can do on a treadmill is intervals. Because it's so incredibly boring, no matter what music I'm listening to or what is on the TV. So if I'm stuck on a treadmill, I either do speed or hill intervals. Be sure to always set the treadmill on a tiny incline, btw. I find outdoor running is much more…
