I am in the same boat! 47 and gained over the past few years. I started here about a month ago. I also am in a 14 and would like to get back to 6 or 8. Feel free to friend me. Good luck!

Big Hair...I have very thick hair and I could "blow and go" instead of spending forever now with a flat iron.

Just the motivation I need. My bike is hooked up to my new indoor trainer and I have a goal of at least 700 mile for the year, so put me down for 100 miles for February. With any luck I will surpass my 700 mile goal and hit at least 1000 miles in 2012.

Anything that smells so bad when it's cooking that I can't imagine putting it in my mouth....sauerkraut comes to mind. Also, any type of sea food or mushroom.

I get them when I don't drink enough water. Never noticed them from lack of carbs...

I just had the white fudge drizzled caramel popcorn...delicious!! I try to save them for a once per week treat. The Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp candy bars are good too. 110 calories per bar.

I had the same problem and this week decided to stop eating potatoes, rice or bread with dinner. I dropped 5 pounds this week after the scale not moving for over a month. I still eat these things, I just have them earlier in the day. Dinner is usually salad and veggies with chicken breast or some other meat source.

No pills or fad diets. Educating myself on healthy ways to live without sacrificing everything I love so that I can continue this after my weight loss goal is complete. By trying new things like Yoga, I am finding other forms of exercise I love. I am really in to bicycling and running now and will do my first 5K in May and…

I use a treadmill so that I can see the time and distance. I know running outside is more difficult and will transition to outdoors once I complete the program in early March. A couple of tips: stretch before and after, treadmill incline on 1, go at your own speed (you can always build speed later), when you're mind is…

I completed the program last year but only "running" at 4.0 on the treadmill. I started over at week 1 this year and am now in week 3 of the program, running at the recommended speed (5 or 6 depending on the workout) and my walking speed went from 3 to 3.5. You will definitely see improvements. When I first did the program…

I once belonged to the Y for a year and never went! If I have to get ready and drive to it, it never happens! Over the past few years I have added to my home gym in my basement. I have a treadmill, select-tech weights, lots of DVDs and recently got an indoor trainer for my bike. I am currently in week 5 of P90X and just…

When I was a senior in high school I was eating a candy bar in the hallway and one of the English teachers took it. The last week of school I went to the local bait shop and bought some minnows and tossed them behind her bookcase. It was about 90 degrees outside and the school had no A/C, so you can imagine the smell...not…

I'm right there with you on this. I got complacent about two weeks before I went on vacation. I gained 5 lbs back and now it's hard to get back in the routine. I am starting with the food and water this week and will add more exercise next week. Gotta get those last 5 (oops, make that 10) pounds off.

Robyn Carr - Virgin River Series as well as her other books LaVyrle Spence has a lot of really good ones. I have read all of hers and didn't find any that I didn't like. I agree with you on Danielle Steele...all seem the same after reading a few.

Make him some cauliflower mashed potatoes. If you do half potatoes and half cauliflower you can't even tell the difference. Trust me...I am about the pickiest eater ever!
