I am a food addict. It took me forever to admit and accept that. I cut out all gluten and sugar and have lost 13 pounds in 14 days and am never hungry. I know that hard days are ahead, but I also know that this is the ONLY way I will ever be free of this damn addiction that controls my life.

I eat about 250 carbs a day from plant sources, including beans, greens, fruits, etc.

I wonder sometimes about my caloric limit. I find that if I stay at 1500 calories a day, then I lose. If I go above that, then I don't lose. MFP recommends 1,620 for me. I lost 100 pounds before by eating 1,600-1,800 calories per day. Maybe I was more active then? My main source of exercise is walking with my toddler…

Thanks for the encouragement! You are right! It's not like I regained weight. I just slid off a bit. I have reduced exercise a bit too now that I have gone back to work. I need to build more exercise in.

Isn't it crazy about the calories? When I lost weight on SB in 2006, I never counted a single calorie. For some reason, it worked. You gals who have lost that much are amazing. I lost 100 lbs starting in 2006. It took me 18 months (and I still had quite a bit to go). Of course, I have PCOS, which makes it harder, but still, I am really impressed.

Is tHis group still active? I lost 100 lbs on SB. Even after fertility drugs and a pregnancy, I managed to keep off 50 of it. I just got back on track last week. I love South Beach because I never go to bed hungry! I have 151 lbs to lose, so I'll be around awhile.

PCOS here, too. I lost 100 lbs as a vegetarian on South Beach. I gained about 50 of it back during my recent pregnancy and am struggling to take it back off. It is hard because I am nursing my eight month old son, so calorie restriction can impact my milk. Anyway, glad to see you gals on here! Hope we can cheer each other…
