  • I had to check my first post on this group to see when I started yoga and it was March. I had been doing no less than 4 days a week but I started to step it up a notch last week. I'm really new to yoga and every instructor is so different so all I know is I am doing Vinyasa flows. I think I'm better in a studio setting for…
  • Great DVD recommendations-- thank you. All the DVD's I have are not challenging enough anymore but would like to start adding to my practice. (Hides head wile saying) I didn't even know there was an Ashtanga primary:)
  • Great topic and glad to know I am not the only one with goal poses. I definitely need to improve on all 1 leg poses, I'm still wobbly but I am getting better. There are some moments in one-legged poses that I am focused and connected with my breath and I feel really good about my progress-- other days not so much. I still…
  • I'm a Reiki Master and have had the opportunity to study with some amazing teachers. If it's a course to discuss energy work and not level 1 Reiki, there may not be an attunement. I don't know what they teach these days... I was attuned for Reiki 1 over 15 years ago. Reiki is extremely unique and honestly was my biggest…

  • I really do not know but have been wondering. I am starting to read a lot about Yoga since its becoming such a huge part of my life. My teachers definitely seem to be doing Ashtanga but I haven't confirmed that. Congrats to be working on your 500 hour RYT! I hope to some day get to that place.
  • I agree it helps, but in my case they come back after anyways. I used to take the week off to rest because I could justify it but I can't anymore :/

  • This is such a hot topic with me and my friends right now. We all work stressful jobs where happy hours and drinking is not frowned upon but almost expected and all of us drink moderately and in the past-- extreme. I am happy to say that I no longer abuse alcohol to help with stress, I stopped drinking beer during the week…
  • Day 7 done :) Getting harder but I don't have to break them up in to sets "yet".
  • I'm also 5'2" at my heaviest I was over 170. Thanks for posting such an inspiring story. You look amazing!!
  • Day 6 done :)
  • Day 5 done :)
  • It does appear that most people who practice Yoga are active as well. I guess there is no way to find out but to do it. Yes, I do try to eat clean 99.9% of the time. I do see results just the scale isn't moving. We shall see. Thanks for the input, I need to make time to incorporate both more often.
  • I love Yoga but I am a newbie. I've been going to a local studio 4-5 times a week. There is nothing at this point that will stop me from going to Yoga but I too would like to know if everyone who has a daily or regular practice has lost weight from Yoga alone. Yoga has done so much for me mentally and I would love to get…
  • Great advice!! Thank you so much!!
  • Why am I just seeing this now??? Huge hockey fan here (hockey247)!!! I've been a long time fan of the Florida Panthers and before that the Rangers. Have partial season tickets, play in two fantasy hockey leagues, treat the trade deadline like Christmas morning. I even watch the draft lotto and go watch draft parties-- hey,…
  • Day 3-- 60 done :)
  • Day 2 done :)
  • Day 1 (4/1) 50 down :) Done!
  • I'm in.. sounds fun! Will be starting mine tonight.
  • Thank you for sharing this. I am going to yoga classes that are in no way just stretching, my heart rate is up, the flow never stops and the only time you pause is at the end. I also doubted the calories MFP has for Yoga and this might help explain why I am so hungry. I most likely am not eating enough to sustain such an…
  • Good question. Does anyone know?
  • I have been using this mat for two weeks and I really like it. However, I didn't follow instructions and spray the mat with a spray bottle at first. A girl my class has the same mat and I saw her do it and it makes a HUGE difference in grip. I did stand on a lululemon today and it was love at first step. I think I am just…
  • Beautifully said. I'm still here and loving everyday.
  • I put it in my rice cooker added some chicken broth and some onions and peppers-- a few spices to taste. It was fantastic.

  • I have to update again-- I actually was able to hold tree today :) I feel like this is such a big step (for me). Thanks so much for all the advise, it really helped!!
  • I agre the advice really helped. I too still have issues with tree but still working on it
  • I'm commenting since I want to come back and look at some of these links. I have also googled and have found a lot of free yoga videos out there. There is also BeFit on Youtube that has a bunch.
  • I'm a late night Yoga girl here. It works for me since I just go to my yoga studio after work and then head home. For me its the perfect way to end my day--- all the stress just leaves me. I absolutely love it. With that being said, I also wish I could wake up in the mornings and do yoga as well. There are some amazing…
  • I could use some extra friends as well. Feel free to add me. I've been logging on every single day lately and have a few friends but could always use more. I know that support is great for any weight loss or fitness goal.
  • I'm still here-- great 75 minute class tonight. I'm still new to Yoga and its amazing how beautiful a royal pigeon is. I can't come close yet but to see others do it is just gorgeous. Glad to see this thread is still going. I have done a bit of Yoga everyday since it started even if it wasn't a full hour.
