I met my boyfriend when I was 205 lbs, although I lost a lot of weight over that summer and was 165 when we started dating. Now I am 230 and he has admitted that he's no longer physically attracted to me. Although it hurts to hear, I am appreciative for the wake up call. I couldn't go on like this, and I haven't been happy…

I took a cruise this past December and was so shocked by my appearance that I am too embarrassed to post my vacation photos on Facebook. I have another cruise scheduled for this December—exactly one year away from my first one, and I hope to be down to my previous lowest weight (165) by then.

My parents took me to a hole-in-the-wall Chinese food place when I got back home for summer break, the kind where the food is served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils and the portions are the size of a small child. I had a plate of chicken fried rice, piled high, and goddamn it was so good. I also ate a whole bunch…

A piece of cinnamon raisin bread :D

Thanks for all the great advice, guys! Pre-logging meals is a great idea, especially since I will be working the latest shift and around that time is when I always get the urge to graze. Packing lunches is another good idea, but we're on food stamps right now and taking advantage of the free meal could mean $50 worth of…

I've had two relatively minor cheat days in 16 days, so about one a week. However, crab leg night will be upon me at my college tomorrow, so I know I'm gonna have another one real soon :')

French fries with ranch. It's one of my few true remaining temptations because they are so damn good, but god I would just eat plates of them in a single sitting.

I am currently on Sprintec, Spironolactone, and Metformin. The Metformin has definitely had the most effect, and it's also helping me lose weight by curbing my excessive hunger. All three medications are under $10 each, so I would definitely ask your doctor about them since they are so affordable relative to other types of…

1 pound every 2 days is a little too much. I'm sure you want to lose weight as quickly as possible, but if you do it too fast your body will start burning muscle instead of fat, and that's no bueno. Make sure your net calories are 1400 if that's your goal, not just 1400 calories in food. You'll want to eat back the…

I have never had a drink of coffee or alcohol.

If you have a smartphone and a Netflix account, watching a favorite show will really help the time not seem as though it is crawling by. Listening to music obviously helps, as does reading if you have a book or a Kindle. It might be helpful to cover up the clock on the treadmill/not look at the time and just set a timer…

I was never much of a breakfast eater at school, but I have come to regularly enjoy my half a whole-wheat bagel and little spread of cream cheese. Trying to avoid curly fries, even though it pains me. The one food I have totally given up for now is cheesecake. There are just too many calories for me to be able to treat…

My mother is really bad about this too. She is very overweight and whenever I start to succeed in making a lifestyle change it makes her feel bad about herself. It's especially hard since I don't have a job and I live at home, so she is in control of the groceries. Often I'll ask her to buy healthy things and she'll…

I'm between 5'7 and 5'8 and my dietician told me that 130 pounds would be too low for me, so it's possible that you are underweight at 122.

I don't think anyone on this forum is qualified to speculate or give advice, you should really talk to your doctor ASAP.

Thanks! Still finding my way around :)

My meal plan at college is 14 meals per week, so I don't always eat breakfast if there is something that looks really good for lunch, but all of my breakfasts have been slightly under 200 calories. I usually eat half a whole wheat bagel + some cream cheese and yogurt, or an english muffin with fruit.

I'm pretty sure no one in this thread claimed anything even close to that, so this rant of yours is really out of place and actually quite bizarre. Why do you need to be so bitter and angry?

I hold most of the responsibility obviously, but I think my mom and sister contributed. When I was just starting school we didn't have a lot of money, so I wore old/baggy clothes that didn't fit me right because I couldn't afford my own. I was a twig, but the clothes made me look fat so my sister teased me for being fat. I…

Apocalypz, that's a good tip! They actually have plates that are half the size of the regular dinner plates. I'm embarrassed to say that pre-health-conscious me used to use them to hold dipping sauces...but using them as my regular dinner plate might be very helpful in at least knowing that I am not overeating :) Also,…

I probably could for one meal, but they serve something different every day and they usually don't repeat a meal in a 2-3 week period. There are every-day foods available, but my options with those are limited by healthiness (cereal bar, stir fry station) and my unfortunate finickyness (the salad bar. I don't like lettuce…
