You could try sprouted pulses like whole green moong; as well as any other pulse you like. Some may need to be steamed prior to eating; but it does depend on your taste and liking http://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/making-moong-mungsprouts-at-home/ I carry green moong sprouts mixed with pomegranate seeds; there's absolutely…

Too early to say for me; but it does seem to be headed that ways. I lose 2-3 kgs and then stall for 4 odd weeks and then lose again!
-
I had planned to finish Week 7 of my 8 Week Program; but I had to repeat my Week 6; due to a week of unplanned chutti! :) I havent lost as much weight as Id have wanted; so will be a bit more stricter with myself in August.
-
@fitmiks please please please be my "annoying" MFP friend!  so my target is 40 minutes 5 days a week and 20 minutes of a stretch/yoga workout on day 6; and day 7 as a rest day; so that works out to 980 minutes.

Does this help? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/nirapara-rice-palakkadan-matta-long-grain-122081373 This is solely valid for me; but it may help you decide on roti vs rice. Due to my ayurvedic body type (and i think because im a north indian), I digest wheat better than rice. Consequently rice makes me feel…

Lets do exercise minutes. It suits everyone. :) Though I guess we can add more factors for our own self if needed
-
i track daily; no matter what ive eaten. but yes i dont weigh my food. that is kinda impractical for me. so i tend to use items with higher calories; unless its a recipe ive created. Week 6 Day 2 done :)

Finally back on track!

EVOO as far as i know should not be heated; so its really a salad oil.

well ghee was always recommended in our house. not in excess for sure; but that one moderate spoon a day is considered to be good. I remember my dad's heart docs also recommend ghee over other oils. my little research of this morning also seems to suggest that ghee is still a good thing to eat; esp over oils.…

Meat & Grain Burgers. (https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/2014/06/meat-grain-burgers/) I'd actually picked this one from the fitnesspal blog. My only tweaks were substituting 400 gm chicken kheema for beef; and regular Kellogg breakfast oats instead of bulgur. I did add more oats (both dry & soaked) to firm up the patties. As…

Here is a more detailed recipe for the indian way of cooking okra. http://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/bhindi-bhaji-recipe/ as a caution; add salt only after the veggies have cooked as okra reduces in quantity when cooked.

@greeshu My only advice would be to keep logging! I do it immediately after a meal; or pre-log if I know what I will be eating later in the day. a smartphone these days is your best friend in this weight loss endeavor. Check out the calories of the food you are thinking of eating; and then make your decision. Trust me, you…

No exercise today & tomorrow! coz im staying out at a friend's house for a girl's night out! :drinker: Pizza Express; Haagen Daz; wine and fun!!! Yiiippiiee!

Week 6 Day 2 done! :) @Greeshu welcome back. I indulge in food everyday :) so dont worry about it one single bit. just keep logging no matter what you eat. for me, it builds an awareness of how much portion i can indulge in; and that itself is a big victory. Eg: a Subway salad is about 250 Cals; while a Subway is 600+. So…

Hi Jessica :-) welcome I wish I'd realized the importance of being healthy when I was younger. I've been on and off the health wagon so often, this would be my fourth or fifth attempt. It's just important to keep on and on...

ouch@fitmiks but good decision. im nearly done with my week 5 too. just 1 more day to go. soemdays i just have to drag myself out of bed to workout! and today was really one of them! barely any burn! :(
-
^^ This. The restriction to eat is not an exact time of the day; but that the body digests well if one eat 2 hours or so before bed time (which could be any time of the day as per your schedule). If food is digested well, it will avoid the problems of bloating, indigestion, gas, water retention etc. But then its also an…

too many jumping jacks on Day 3 Week 5!! but im super glad i can now really jump so much! Any tricks on how to keep the hair up in a bun during jumps? I have hair longer than my waist; which i tie in a plait and then secure as a bun with a long pin...and it all keeps tumbling down!
-
I'd love to know how you make the onion+aloe paste and your usage pattern.

Day 2 of Week 5 done! :) i just love strength training!
