http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided ETA: 28 year old males should definitely not be eating so little. I'd change your activity level and your weight loss goal. Unless you're obese 2lb a week is an unreasonable expectation

Well for a start you're a male so 1500 calories is too low, and MFP is set up so you eat back those calories. A"typical" male has a recommended daily amount of 2500 calories, I can't see why you would struggle to eat back your exercise calories? Your ticker says you only have 14lbs to go, if this is the case maybe you…

Purely from a weight loss point of view there's no need to do low carb, especially if you are finding it unsustainable. You can play around with your macro settings and find what works for you but I've found I have the best success at 40%carbs 30% fat 30% protein. When you say doctor do you mean GP? They have minimal…

I look at my babies and know I want to be the best parent I can be, all the motivation I need. I've logged every day for the past 896 days without fail, even 20 minutes after giving birth, and I've had bad days but I've never lost the drive to want to be a better me, for me and for my family. You can do it if you really…

You've just completely contradicted yourself. You say you've kept to 1200 for the past decade (since you were 12!!!) and can't remember every getting getting sick, then you say you get bouts of cold, your hair is falling out, you don't sleep and you have bags under your eyes! Sounds super healthy to me :noway:
-
What happens when you start to eat a more reasonable amount and the scale jumps up? Will you go back to 1200 or persevere?
-
Is your diary accurate?? As a male the LOWEST you should eat is 1800 calories and eating back exercise calories. I am very supportive of all my MFP friends and try to help people to do this the right way. If your diary is true, apart from being surprised you are still standing, I would be motivating you to eat more food or…

If you search UK friends there are loads of the same topic, sure you'll find a few there

Set a reasonable deficit and weigh and log absolutely everything and you will lose weight, this is how I started. It doesn't matter where your calories come from for weight loss alone. As you start to see the weight come off you'll probably want to eat healthier food and try new things. I know once I stopped adding salt to…

This used to be me but over the 2 1/2 years I've been here and concentrating on macros it doesn't seem to affect me any more. On the days I know it's about to happen I try to increase my protein and water so I feel fuller and fit a sweet treat into my day. I'm guessing that you would have still been under your TDEE for the…

I don't mean to sound rude but you must have been eating a lot more to get to your current weight. 1700 sounds like a reasonable goal, the idea is to have a healthy sustainable target so that you can continue with the lifestyle when you reach your goal and then you are less likely to put the weight back on again, like has…

I've sent her an inbox message with the link, don't know if that will work?

As fast as I'm reporting more are popping up. I volunteer to be a spam mod if MFP will have me

Maintenance + 300 for me was 2600 calories. I felt like I didn't stop eating when I was pregnant, definitely felt like I was eating for 2 :flowerforyou:
-
In the past few weeks you've messed around with your calorie allowance and not settled anywhere for long enough to see what actually works. You've already said you don't weigh your food so how do you know what you are eating? I agree with adding more protein and fibre. Pick a calorie goal and stick with it religiously for…

Nothing in :explode: Si said go for a walk :noway:
-
Perhaps, if you're a 5ft tall 20 year old female who weighs 98lb and sits doing nothing all day
-
Only asked because you MAY have had a slight sodium gain on the scales but not noticed it because of your loss over the rest of the week. I can't see your diary but I'm assuming the 500 extra calories would have still left you in TDEE deficit overall for the week?
-
Do you weigh daily?
-
$213.95 for a 21 day detox? the only thing getting cleansed is your wallet ETA 21lbs in 21 days doesn't sound healthy, unless you're super morbidly obese?
-
Small portions of high calorie foods and you're not hungry? Either have larger portions or tell your grandma you're an adult who can fend for yourself :flowerforyou:
-
That doesn't make sense. If you're having to eat high calorie meals how are you not getting to your calorie goal?
-
I'm sorry but at your weight you should be eating a lot MORE than 1200 to lose weight. Your BMR is around 2300 calories. That's how much your body would need to function properly if you were in a coma. Hunger is not a good indicator of if you should eat, some people with eating disorders don't feel hunger.
-
Rude? I was stating a fact.
-
Yes, it's SO difficult that millions of us manage it every day :noway:
-
You seem to be ignoring the good advice you're getting, but "back to topic" your weight fluctuates over the day, in my case this can be anything up to 6lbs and I don't look any heavier or thinner. I think you're imagining you look fatter, especially if you don't feel bloated. A 2lb -4lb loss wouldn't make any great…
-
BMI is not a good indication of health. body builder's BMIs put them into the obese category but they aren't obese! Lifting heavy raises your metabolism and helps you burn fat better than cardio, eating at or above maintenance helps you to build muscle
-
You'd be better doing this by eating at least maintenance calories and lifting heavy. You're already a healthy weight, you are looking to change your body composition
-
With only 30lbs to lose I would suggest you set your goal to "lose 0.5lb per week" and eat back your exercise calories if they are not part of your activity level, that way you will probably feel less need to have "cheat days" and it will be easier to move to maintenance when you're ready
