I had lost 74 pounds over about two years. Then, I went back to school (for my Ph.D.) last fall, while continuing to work full-time. I gained 34 pounds back in less than a year. I'm still struggling to get moving again. It is discouraging, it is hard (harder now, for me, since I don't have the time or energy that I used…

I definitely agree with some of the others who have suggested that you take measurements and take pictures. The weight loss will slow down, but that doesn't mean you're not doing well. If you're eating well and exercising regularly, then no change in the scale # could just mean that your body is changing. Keep at it. Stay…

Thanks: I've definitely been re-evaluating my situation. For the next school year, I'll be moving closer to campus and reducing my workload from full-time to about 3/4 time. Both of those things should help. Although, it's been "summer break" for me for two weeks and I've only worked out twice! I think part of the problem…

Lol this is my favorite recipe. I only do this once in a while, though. Usually I mix mine with Vanilla Light Soy.

1. Congrats on all the hard work and results - you're gorgeous! 2. "2/4/2013: Achieved driver license weight (170 lbs) " <-- LMAO. One of my goals is to get back to my DL weight, too! When I went in to renew mine they asked if my weight was the same. "Uh, yeah, totally....!" :)

I'm one of those who is often too busy (particularly doing the week) to be able to fit much, if anything in. But, I work 45-hours per week & I'm also pursuing my Ph.D. It takes me an hour and a half each way to get to/from campus, this after my workday. So, on a good day, I'm up at 5:30am for work, leave work at 4pm to get…

Raw/uncooked for all foods unless otherwise specified on the labeling (sometimes they'll even give you both cooked & uncooked data). I usually calculate the raw data (unless the nutritional info clearly states "cooked") and then add whatever else on top of that after cooking (seasonings, dressings, etc.)
-
Agreed - probably not the best nutritional approach, either (different foods get you different nutrients, so having just the same few things every day could mean you're missing out on some important vitamins/minerals, etc.).

I've been thinking about getting one, too, just to try something new. But do you really wear it 24/7 (what about in the shower?). And how long should one plan to use it for? 30 days? 90? If it's going to be on my arm 24/7, I don't think I'd want to use it long-term.

LOL.

Cinnabon. Cinnabon. Cinnabon.

Recipe comes from here: http://skinnyms.com/skinny-artichoke-spinach-penne-casserole/ It does say 176 calories per 1 and 1/4 cup serving, but it doesn't sound right to me.

Sounds great! How much of the spices (oregano, black pepper, red pepper) do you use? Just a pinch of inch? Teaspoon/Tablespoon?

I'm at 1540 but I eat back my exercise calories. I try to eat things that are relatively low calorie, but filling. Fibrous fruits. Eggs. Etc. I'm a vegetarian, so it's a bit tougher for me - I'm sure some lean chicken would fill me up, but oh well!

Breathing problems? I'm not sure, but it's possible you're not getting enough oxygen. Also, if you'reeating a lot right before you run, that could be problematic (eating something within 30 minutes is a good idea, but a big meal five minutes before isn't the best). Of course, I'm not a doctor and don't really know anything.

This! I love peanut butter & banana this way (and, as others have said, in a smoothie).

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm in the same situation - finished JMBR and a co-worker has Insanity, which she's going to loan me for free. I'm about to start Zumba first, though. I really wanted to do something a bit more "fun" (but still a workout) for a while. Jill is tough! And she came after 3 rounds of P90X, for me.…

Queer Theory: An Introduction by Annmarie Jagose & A Critical Intro to Queer Theory by Nikki Sullivan. Also agree with Judith Butler's writings (though it's often more Feminist/Gender Studies than specifically Queer Theory) and Turner's Genealogy of Queer Theory. There's also a collection called The Lesbian & Gay Studies…

I definitely want to try it, someday. I've done p90x and Body Revolution - but I can't afford another program right now, unfortunately. I'm just working from the dozens and dozens of DVDs I already have, and going to the gym for treadmill jogging every now and then. Good luck to ya! I hear it's great (and intense).

Cheesecake Factory's new Skinnylicious menu is aiight. I usually get the flatbread pizza.

I have succeeded with a smart diet and regular exercise. I've lost 70 pounds and I'm healthier than ever. This question wasn't about going on a permanent or even a lengthy juice "diet." It's about trying a short fast/cleanse, something I've never done but want to try, for various reasons. I've had great success with MFP…
-
Thanks - this is what I'm hearing. A 10 day "cleanse" can help your body flush out the need for sugar/caffeine, both of which I'm very addicted to at the moment.
-
Awesome - thanks for all this info!
-
Why do you have to be judgmental and sarcastic about it? If you don't want to offer assistance, don't comment... I'm asking a serious question and looking for serious help.
-
I don't really want to have to explain myself, but I won't get enough calories if I try to eat that much physical/whole fruit & veggies. I fill up much too fast (small stomach) - I can get 1600 calories per day with 4 juices. I can't eat 1600 calories of whole fruit/veggies per day - it just isn't physically possible for…

His short stories are much more riveting ... have you tried those? Young Goodman Brown, Rappaccini's Daughter, and The Birthmark are all very, very good.

Thanks!

Very glad you got out. Don't look back.
