Lots of great thoughts and advice - thanks everyone! :)

YES! I can't wait! I have two more weeks of Cardio 1 and I'm getting bored. :( And I love burpees - they're such a great full-body exercise. I know Jillian loves 'em, so I was expecting to see (a lot) of them sooner or later. I've been having a little bit of shin & knee pain lately, though, so I'm worried about the high…

Running with Scissors is AWESOME. Middlesex is also brilliant.

Ditto to the first part and WORD to the second! It's nice to care about your loved ones and want to see them be healthy and well - but if they're not, they're not.

Ahh - now that's a cool website! Thanks!

Definitely been drinking a lot more water - but still don't like being so far over my sodium limit every day. It's not just because of cheese. I also eat frozen veggie burgers and other sodium-filled things... but one low-fat string cheese has over 200mg alone and one slice of 2% American has 270mg. So it'd be a bit of a…

Interesting! Thanks!

I fully admit that I love cheese and I'm NOT giving it up ... kinda the point of my question. ;) Thanks for that advice, and I get it, but I'm really specifically looking for low-sodium cheese because I don't want to give up or eat less cheese (even if that's the logical and healthier way to go).

Well, water retention sucks. Bloating is unsightly and excess water makes my scale think I'm fatter than I really am. But, also (and more seriously), too much sodium can lead to high blood pressure/hypertension = stroke/heart attack. Bad.

Guess it doesn't exist!

Gotta put a little faith in yourself and your own abilities, too - putting the burden elsewhere is too easy. Take command of your life & do the best YOU can in all YOU do! Good luck!

Good for you! And good luck with your job - I hope it works out.

Why are you only getting a Net of 500 calories per day? That's definitely not going to help you lose weight... and it's not at all good for your health or body. You need to eat more - for a lot of reasons. Sounds like you binge beause you feel that you starve yourself for no reason (no results). But, you're not getting any…

MFP has (had) been working for me - but lately I've been stalled, which is why I'm trying to reassess. I log all my food, I exercise regularly, and I try to stay within my calorie & nutrition goals (usually get pretty close). I've lost over 70 pounds in 10 months, so MFP and my approach have definitely been successful;…

And since I factor in my exercise into my TDEE calculations - that means I want to more than BMR but less than TDEE as given, right? (That is to say, do NOT eat back my exercise calories if I'm already eating mid-way between BMR and a TDEE which already factors in exercise?)

bump?

Thanks for all the feedback! So the final question, which I think will help me get a better understanding (this is where the main confusion is coming in). If I calculate my calories needed based on my height/weight/age + working out 5 days per week, it says: Maintenance: 2368 CALORIES/DAY Fat Loss: 1894 CALORIES/DAY…

Bump for an answer to my Q? :)

So, if my TDEE is 2842 and I want to lose 2 pounds per week, that means I have to cut 7,000 calories per week or 1,000 per day. So, should I be eating 1,000 calories less than TDEE per day? That would be 1,842 cals/day ...which sounds really high....

Hahahaha.... I fart all the time, everywhere. It comes with the territory now that I'm eating so much healthier (holy cow do veggies and fiber cause the gas or what?!) I should probably be taking some of the advice here, but I just tell my S.O. to deal with it. :P

Not typically. It is VERY difficult to get this type of operation approved by insurance - they usually require proof of other detrimental health impacts (such as rashes/sores, etc.). Short answer to your question (though it has been answered numerous times) is - yes, if you lose that much weight, you'll have excess skin.

The boost looks good, but it's only 8 oz. The Atkins seems a bit expensive for me. =/
