Actually, I'd say you are not eating enough. You have your goal set to 1320. This is a very low calorie diet especially for a man. We can get away with eating so little when we are overweight, but after a while our bodies simply can't handle these extreme deficits. You shouldn't be eating under your bmr. You bmr is the…

So long as it fits within your macros and calories you can go to town with it.

Hmm, I guess you could say I do. My calorie goal is not set according to MFP recommendations. Instead it is set to include my exercise upfront and in addition to my calorie deficit. I eat a set amount of calories per day. The only reason I'd add more in is if I did some extra exercise and need to get my net up to my BMR.…

Anyone? I'd love some advice on what to do about being over on fat and cholesterol most days. Thanks.
-
18% is amazing! With that number in mind, you definitely do not need to lose anymore fat. If you do, you are going to start having issues with your cycle and your hormone levels. You don't want that. I agree with everyone else. Eat more (above maintenance) and lift heavy. If in the process you gain a couple percentage…

Thanks for the responses. Ok, so here is my question, how much fat is too much fat, and should I be concerned if I end up over on cholesterol as a result of the extra meat I'm taking in. Also, I have my macros set at 40/30/30 C/F/P. Should I reevaluate this? I'm over on fat and under on protein pretty frequently.

Weekends are a problem for me as well. This is usually because I am not at home to cook on weekends. I try not to go over on calories and just make the best choices I can. It's been this way since day one. I'm still losing, so I'm no longer bothered by it.

I run a bath, add my favorite bath salts, and have a good sigh/cry if needed. I also tend to find a bunch of things to do to occupy my time.

Anyone?

You look great! I'd say you don't need to lose anymore, but you could do some heavy weight training if you want to tone up some more.

I try my best not to criticize other people's weight. You never really know where people are coming from. My sister has been underweight her whole life, and it is not the result of an eating disorder. She has a very very high metabolism, and she simply cannot put weight on no matter how much she eats, and she eats a lot.…

Yep! I was thin as a child and as a teen. I was a little too thin actually. Even underweight for my height, but it was natural. I ate a lot, but I was very active in school, so it never added up. It's hereditary. My sister has spent most of her life underweight. She's even gone on meds and supplements to try to gain some…

You look great! I'm so glad you've overcome your ED. The scale can really be a b*tch! I'm taking a bit of a hiatus from weighing this week. I'm usually a 1-2 times a day weighter. Before taking this hiatus I thought the numbers weren't affecting me, but they were. In the AM I was waiting to eat until later in the morning…

MFP doesn't say that, and many believe that is the problem. MFP is a calorie tracking tool, it is not the end all and be all of weight loss and fitness. In a way, MFP sets folks up for a plateau. Now, don't get me wrong, this isn't true for every situation. MFP is actually quite capable of helping people reach their…

This is absolutely terrible advice! 1200 is way too low for us tall girls. I can't believe someone would even advocate eating 1000 at our height. It's one thing if every now and then you just can't eat enough, but to consistently eat at this low level is very dangerous for anyone our height.

I should add a bit more to this. My BMR is 1548. My goal is set to 1834 which is my TDEE -15%. I always try to net my BMR which can be extremely difficult on high burn days. On those high burn days I eat in excess of 2000 and net my BMR. If I only burn around 300 calories (like today) I don't have to eat back any calories…
-
I tried netting 1200, I lose very little. I generally eat over 2000 calories on exercise days and around 1600 on rest days. I'm 5'10 and 173 pounds.

*sigh* Yeh, she's doping and all, but do we have to call her names?
-
Oh hun, you don't have to live this way. There is nothing wrong with your legs. Wanting to see your bones through your clothes is not necessarily a realistic or healthy goal to have.
-
Wow! That wasn't insulting at all. How does it make you feel when people call you names? If someone commented on one of your posts and said your face looks "pretty ugly" would you like that? Geez! WTF happened to having manners?!

Gotta save this for later. I always have so many problems with breakfast. Thanks for a great thread!

First you have to think in meals. There won't be any variety here. Think about something you could stand to eat everyday for a week. Breakfast = Grits, oatmeal, or cream of wheat depending on what is on sale. Lunch = beans and rice or a PBJ sandwich dinner = Beans and rice or a cassarole Snacks = Apples or oranges or…

Why are you going to bed hungry every night? That strikes me as odd. Are you eating enough during the day?
-
I eat the fruit and don't worry about the sugar overage. In my opinion, it's more important to eat the fruit and get those vitamins, minerals and nutrients than it is to stick to some arbitrary number. Processed sugar is the one I pay attention to.

I weigh in the morning after I do my business, but honestly, I'm getting to the point where I say screw the scale. Body fat % is a better indicator of overall healthy and fitness anyway. Not to mention, if you are doing any strength training, the scale is not going to tell the whole story.

I use unsweetened almond milk for my chocolate protein shakes. I'm mildly lactose intolerant, so the whey protein already puts me at my limit. Using real milk pushes me over the edge. Anyway, I like the nutty flavor almond milk adds to the shake. It's yummy.
-
So far as I'm concerned Chocolate is a negative calorie food, and I dare anyone to tell me different.

Sorry, that was a misquote. I meant to quote the other post above yours about eating 1400 a day when the OP said their BMR was 17 something or another. My apologies. I've fixed it.

The TDEE is your BMR multiplied by an activity factor. For sedentary, that factor is 1.2, for moderately active that factor is 1.55 and so on and so forth. You can also figure this out manually by finding the average amount of calories you burn per week dividing that number by 7 and adding it to your Sedentary TDEE. This…
