  • Oranges (blood oranges right now) and cheesy things. Pizza, quesadillas, cheese burgers, nachos, cheesesteaks, CHEESE, CHEESE, CHEESE! And I'm lactose intolerant, so it's really amping up the gas factor.
  • Although I'm 40 weeks in September I'll be induced by 38 weeks. So I guess you can say I'm due Aug. 27. I'm having twins so I can't carry them full term. I could even have them at 35 weeks or so, so it's looking like August no matter what. "Morning" sickness is the pits. I'm nauseous all day long, but I never throw up.…
  • Grilled pork chops marinated in my special spicy garlic thyme marinade, grilled sweet potatoes and grilled zukes. ETA: That's boneless center cut pork loin chops to be specific.
  • My husband and I just moved here a few weeks ago. We get the "oh no more newbies" looks. Little do they know we have been in the gym several days a week every week for over a year now. I just roll my eyes and keep it pushing.
  • If you can't fix your behaviors you're destined to end up in the same situation whether or not you have the surgery. I have a friend who had a GP. She is still eating terribly and is quickly gaining her weight back. Whether or not you choose to have the surgery, and it is your choice, you need to fix the behavioral issues.…

  • I use NOW food whey protein isolate unflavored. It doesn't have all the added stuff some of the others have, so I can customize my shakes as I see fit. It also have very little lactose. I'm lactose intolerant, so this is a bonus.
  • My family eats pretty healthfully, so dinner isn't the problem. Now dessert is a total different situation! Like others have said, I'll try to get a run or bike ride in on xmas day. As for logging, I've been at this long enough to know how much I'm taking in without actually logging what I eat. At this point, I only log…
  • I take tri sprintec. I have lost nearly 40 pounds while on the pill. I don't know whether or not it makes you gain weight, but it doesn't stop you have losing weight.
  • I take a multi and vitamin D. Both were recommended by the doctor after some blood work. If you want specifics, you should get the doctor to do some blood work. Otherwise, a multivitamin taken once a day can't hurt.
  • Yes, the chair squat things are a pain, but after doing level 2 for 6 days I am seeing major improvements in my shoulder strength, so they are doing something. I really like the walk out push-ups even though I struggle with doing the push-up part. I alternate a walkout push-up with a walkout plank.
  • Another thing I do is cut down on the carbs by asking for veggies instead of the fries, mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, etc. That really helps with the calories.
  • In those cases I order things I can easily guesstimate. For example, lean protein, veggies, and a carb are usually pretty easy to log. You do need are add some additional fat though.
  • I think you missed the point. It's not that anyone doubts that you did the work (I garden as well, trust me I know how hard it is). The problem is that the calories burned MFP gives you is way way high. You have to remember that in those 9 hours you would have burn 1,000+ calories even if you'd done very little. In those 9…
  • I don't think I prejudge people for their weight, at least I try not too, but I do have an immense amount of compassion for their situation. I also wish that I could help.
  • Somethings are better left unsaid...
  • I'm surprised at how low some of you go on protein. I can hardly move the day after a run if I don't get my protein up around 30% I'm usually at 40/30/30. I eat most of my carbs at the end of the day and run in the morning. So far, I'm not noticing any performance issues, but I'm also not running long distances.
  • I'm not going to preach at you about eating clean all the time. I don't do that myself. If you could see my diary you'd see a couple days a week with fast food in there for lunch or dinner. You'll also see some sweets in there as I love to bake. HOWEVER, you need to eat that stuff less often. Your carbs are way way high as…
  • I finished a practice 5k in 40 minutes yesterday.. 13 min pace. smh... It's getting better though. I've improved my pace by almost 1 minute in a month.
  • This is from a blog I wrote a while ago. Hopefully it helps. I no longer suffer from HBP, so I've since increased my sodium allowance to 2,300mg. Some days are better than others, but it's actually pretty easy to keep your numbers down if you need to.
  • Thanks for the link!
  • Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. Luckily, we didn't have too much to throw out since I have always tended toward healthy-ish foods. If you can donate it to a food bank, do. If you can take it to work/church, do. If you can put it out at a gathering, do. Otherwise, your choices are to eat it or throw it out. I…
  • Sex: F Age: 27 Weight: 172 Height: 5'10" How many calories you NET per day: 1500-1800, sometimes more and almost always above BMR. How many times per week you exercise w/ minutes: 4-5 times. Avg length of each session is 45 minutes.
  • I eat between 1800 and 2000+ calories a day depending on any extra activities I might throw in. I always try to net above BMR. Feel free to add me.
  • or one of these (aeropress) which is better than both of those:
  • I'm under 30 and i wear a watch pretty much everyday. I have done since I was a little kid. I find a watch much more convenient than digging through my huge handbag trying to find my cellphone so I can then know the time.
  • Had a close call on Saturday, but thankfully I had sense enough to stop when I started to feel bad. I've restricted myself to morning runs for the rest of the summer. Thanks for the tips.
  • I definitely have less energy, and I pretty much want to eat everything in sight. If the cramps are bad enough, I may rearrange my schedule to have a rest day fall on day 1 or 2 of TOM. But, Most of the time I just push on through.
  • Anyone who was a couponer and discount shopper before changing their eating habits experienced a marked increase in their grocery bill. The increase is worth it for sure, but I don't understand why people insist on trying to pretend the increase isn't there. As another poster mentioned, there is the food desert issue. Much…
