Trader Joe's reduced guilt spinach & kale greek yogurt dip mixed with a can of canned chunk chicken breast on multi-grain crackers. Don't know why, but I love that stuff. Surprisingly low in calories (30 cal per ounce), high in protein.

I use a Suunto M4 and think it's great. My wife has the Polar FT4 and loves it...she says it's easy to use and the strap is comfortable. The chest strap is the only way to go in my opinion. I have never had my watch pick up interference, but I have had the machine I was using (treadmill) pick up a chest strap signal from…

I just completed my first half earlier this month. Like you the longest distance I had done prior to that was a 5K. I recommend the Hal Higdon training programs that someone else referenced earlier (http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51130/Half-Marathon-Training-Guide). I followed one loosely...basically I would run twice…

Incredible progress! Great work.

Never let me creep, cause if I creep, then I'm creepin'.

You can totally do this! I have my first half marathon in just under two weeks and, like you, went from doing a 5k to a half. Give yourself plenty of time to train. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you can add distance to your training runs. Best of luck to you!

That's an awesome accomplishment. Great work!

Great work. Truly an inspiration. Best of luck on those last 8 pounds. You can do it!

Long Beach Airport (Southern California). It's nearly always easy to get in and out of there. Plus the whole experience feels like a throwback to the 1950's - architecture, boarding the plane from the tarmac, etc. Not a ton of flight options, but a fun change of pace from international airports. http://www.lgb.org/

Left ankle. Every. Single. Step. Hate it.

I recommend both, but I also think you should do what you feel is something you can do regularly. When I was starting out for the first two months I only did cardio...specifically only the elliptical machine. For me it was about establishing a consistent schedule and calorie deficit, and getting in the proper mindset for…

Love green tea. I replaced my coffee consumption with green tea and drink one cup daily. I'd say give it a shot.

Amazing progress. Great work!

Awesome work. Very inspiring!

I recommend using a heart rate monitor for more accurate tracking of the calories you burn during cardio. I use a Suunto M4 and it has been great. My wife has a Polar FT4 and she says it's comfortable and well worth the price.

Great work!

I use the Magic Bullet at my office. It's compact, light and inexpensive. It also has a variety of cups and has been great for my protein shakes. I've seen it for less than $50 at both Bed Bath and Beyond and Costco. If you go that route, Bed Bath & Beyond also does 20% off coupons if you sign up for their promotional…

I'm running my first half marathon in November (Santa Barbara, CA). Anyone on this thread looking for running friends, feel free to add me.

PS - You had everything right except the case....use lower case when you do those img tags...so it would look something this: [ img ]www.YourLink.com/Picture.jpg[ /img ]

...you'd rather workout at 24 hour fitness because it's actually open 24 hours. ...you take a walk instead of just standing there while filling your car with gas. ...going to the gym starts to be like the Cheers theme song "...where everybody knows your name...and they're always glad you came..." ...you get excited to…

Total Daily Energy Expenditure - Basically the total number of calories you burn in a day inclusive of your exercise and activity. Here's the calculator I typically use to find TDEE... http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

Doesn't sound like enough based on your level of activity. For what it's worth I recommend checking out http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ It will give you your BMR, TDEE and recommended calories based on your weight loss goal and activity levels. I find it is a good supplement to what MFP recommends and have…

I recommend the site below. I've seen it listed on a few threads on here and have found it useful for calculating BMR, TDEE and a calorie goal. I use it for customizing my calorie goals here on MFP. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

I can share with you my experience. I'm training for a half marathon and recently started mixing up my mid-week training sessions which had been similar to yours - 3-4 miles, 2-3 times per week. I also do a long run on the weekends. The last few weeks I've been starting at a comfortable speed and then running either half…

Image posting...just copy the URL and place it between [ img ] and [ /img ] . You'll need to delete the spaces between the bracket and the text. Make sure it's lower case. It will look like this: [ img ]http://MyImage.com/MyPicture.jpg[ /img ] Here it is for you...

Add me if you'd like. I'm on here daily...down over 60lbs. so far. I'm from SoCal as well.
