The digestive process requires a lot of energy, which is why we get sleepy after eating a large meal. Supposedly fasting allows for that energy to be utilized more efficiently in repairing the body. There have been published studies on the effects of intermittent fasting on mice, and there are plenty of "unofficial"…

Yes, I just found out I was pregnant last week. I'm only about 5 weeks though, and I cried a little when I realized my weight loss goal had to be put on hold. lol (silly me) My mother is an OB/GYN and told me that the best way to keep the pounds down ( and even lose a little in my first trimester since I'm already…

Great goals :0 ) Good luck!

Yes! I almost didn't though...but I ran out of excuses. Glad I went. Today was my first time ever lifting, which worked out perfectly because hardly anyone was there so I had plenty of time to see where everything was, work on my form, and figure out my bodyspace app. I did upper body lifting and 30 min @ 3.0 mph on the…

Usually nothing, but I made some vegan banana "muffins" (they came out more like chewy granola) yesterday, so I had one of those, some strawberries and coffee this morning.

2 other things 1. Another person mentioned about Hispanic markets and I totally agree. Any international market is a GREAT place to buy produce...the center aisle items tend to be higher priced but they are usually cheaper than other stores around them when it comes to meat, produce, and seafood. 2. Pay attention to what…

The only way I can see this happening is if you get smarter about the way you shop or if you stick to eating only food that doesn't go bad. Like pantry items...rice, pasta, canned veggies, freezer meats, freezer fruits and veggies ect.. ALWAYS take advantage of sale items of things you like when you see them...especially…

I like to put a little salt and pepper on mine and eat it on a cracker. Otherwise, it is pretty bland.

Oh and I also learned that giving into the salty cravings made the bloating much worse. If I pay attention and just eat mostly raw veggies before I'm due to blow up, I can skip that part completely. Eating light a few days before sometimes prevents me from getting cramps as well.

I gain about 1-2 days before, I don't even bother to weigh myself anymore because my clothes get tighter around my waist and I feel much heavier. It goes away on the first day of my period. I gain about 5-6 pounds during that time and somehow manage to lose it overnight. Which is good to know because I used to get REAL…

It could be that you're getting stronger. I actually quit my first time couple of times trying to lose weight because after a month the scale was still hovering around my starting number. It's only until just recently, that I realized that I may have been getting stronger because my clothes were getting loser, the fat loss…

There is a sandwich shop across from the verizon center on 7th street it's next door (or two) from Rosa Mexicana that sells sandwiches. I wouldn't necessarily call cheap but you can get a nice filling wrap for about 8 - 10 bucks. I would stop here if you plan to take a trip to Chinatown. Also, there are a LOT of pho…

Maybe she's just trying to make you jealous? She could be feeling like your not drooling over her enough, so she's going out to show off elsewhere.

It depends on what your goals are. If you just want to lose weight then it doesn't matter what you eat, as long as you stay under your calorie goals. If your goal is to improve your health as well, then I would say it's what you do the most that matters. If you aren't used to eating "clean" or extremely healthy, then a few…

Oooh ok then. Well shame on them!

Vegetables? Vegetables are classified as carbs....maybe not in the Atkins sense of the word. And carbohydrates do have a molecular structure. It's CHO or CH20 ( I had to look ithat up bc I couldn't remember it exactly). Anyway, my two cents....unfortunately nutrition is not yet an exact science. It's not even a precise…
