first start with logging everything you eat. second - start looking at portions. I was amazed at how easily I dropped weight when I cut a sandwich in half, ate half and waiting 10 minutes before deciding if I needed the other half (we are talking a Jimmy John's sandwich not a PBJ)...also when I started counting out 15…

I think it is "okay" but not advisable. You absolutely have to give your body some rest or it will start breaking down. During marathon training season I take my Monday rest day seriously as I know I am working even harder than usual and need to let the legs recover. During the rest of the year I take a true rest day once…

I bet they do it to see if they can get another thread started on MFP on why they comb their hair and put on make up. Some women like to do that, some women don't care to bother.

I am not vegan but I do not eat meat. I do not miss hamburgers meat at all. I do not like hamburger and never have. I do however miss having a sandwich to eat in the fashion of a burger. I will eat a portabella mushroom cap or a black bean burger with grilled onions...yummmm. II like that garden burgers do not taste like…

Oh brother...I tried this for about a month and I hated eating this way as I never ever ever felt satisfied.

Since someone brought up things that people say at the loss of a loved one I have a few that make me boil in anger. 1. God only takes the best. Even evil people die. All people die. 2. At least (insert name here) isn't suffering anymore. Yes, but now I am suffering so please just pay your respects. 3. When a death occurs…

Wait!....What? As a high school teacher this makes me want to puke.

My mom does fad diets. She does well for a few weeks then has a bad day and eats real food and forgets all about it. She spends loads of money on fad diets. We have admittedly made fun of some of them. We support her getting healthy but think it is silly to be so easily convinced that this new easy way was going to work…

I do not define a man's attractiveness by his height but rather by his mile splits and ability to do pushups...

I would use about $100 shopping for fun things for me, $100-$200 for supplies to help the people on my mission trip then put the rest in savings so that one day when I was on my own I would have a little money to work with

1200 is fine if you specifically eat back your exercise cals. I have my target set at 2000 cals. I am 5 ft tall and 118 lbs. I am not specifically eating back my exercise BUT I workout and burn nearly 500-1500 cals a day as I am training for a marathon. My Net calories are typically between 1300-1500...

sometimes the only motivation is knowing that you will be done...and that I can eat more

I think it is mostly about people trying to be polite. People say stupid, unhelpful crap all the time because they don't know what else to say. How many of us have said "Oh but at least he/she is in a better place" to someone after they have dealt with the death of a loved one? That is not a helpful comforting thing to say…

Best time to exercise is when you enjoy exercising. I will work out in the morning but don't love it. I love afternoon workouts so it is easy for me ot make those happen

My children are not allowed to have any video game devices. They have all asked multiple times and have foolishly asked in front of friends only to show how awful we were...

Sometimes I would intentionally go over the day before and the day after if I was woefully low on calories on the day of a long run

You know I think when someone starts this journey they want to succeed so much and just want to do things right. At the beginning of this process you eat less and you lose. As you continue, you start to have emotional responses to hunger or food. ie you are hungry and at first you think...yeah baby I am losing…

lbs. I run a lot and have a very active lifr I use a TDEE calculation to determine my calorie target. I am 5' tall and about lbs. I run a lot and have a very active life. I eat 2000 cals a day. FYI - I used this TDEE approach to improve my emotional relationship with food and exercise...when I had my MFP goal and then got…

If you want them to eat what you want them to eat then lay it out for him ...ie the chicken in the fridge already marinating, make the frozen veggies etc easy to see etc. I learned that if I want things done my way I had to make it clear before hand, not be irritated afterwards. Some easy dad meals...someone mentioned…

I have battled some ED issues in my lifetime. I refuse to own a scale for this reason. I only weigh in at the gym and only the once particular branch of the gym...I use my clothing to make sure I am on track. If my clothes get too tight I need to make changes. Also I reiterate the message about saying positive affirmations…

A size 12 is certainly appropriate. Some people are looking for practical fitness..not be body builders. Some people are encouraged to see a trainer that looks like themselves and is working toward fitness. Some people have been coached by people in their life time that were incredibly knowledgeable coaches but terribly…

Meat does not taste good to me. The texture does not appeal to me. I feel better when I eat a veggie diet.

giggle I believe very much that muscle burns more than fat etc but it is difficult to measure and that annoys me.

I would break it up into warm up ...ie 15 minute on Treadmill at 4.0mph then 25 circuit training (That is listed in the exercise database) then 15 minute yoga if you were doing cool down stuff...
