I upped mine and I feel less neurotic and more balanced etc...but I took it really slowly upping them 50-75 cals every 2 weeks until I hit MFP maintenance...that way my body would adjust slowly and not freak out

preference is the only thing that matters...some people find they cannot sleep if they workout in the evening...I don't have that issue...morning workouts blow chunks if you ask me...they are necessary sometimes but I hate them and never put as much into them so for me it is a night time thing

A good way to work it is to eat at the maintenance level for you ideal weight. So if you want to be 145 set your target for maintenance for 145 and then shoot for that....

I do not take rest days as often as I probably "should" but I do rest and modify my week's training when I feel fatigued or sore or developing an injury. I do judo...I used to break up the 2 hour session into 20-30 minutes calisthenics, 15-20 mins vigorous calisthenics and only 10-15 min of judo... unless the practice was more vigorous...this way I accounted for teaching times, time standing around, etc...
