  • When I wear a bikini i make sure I bring my kids with me so people can see my body but understand that that extra skin is due to these amazing people that keep following me around....LOL
  • Most likely people are not just walking up to you and saying" wow you are not fat". It is likely you are talking negatively about yourself and they are trying to boost you ego, be a good friend, encourage you or just trying to stop the negative self talk that makes others uncomfortable.
  • me...a good number of my students are absent, so many in fact that the remaining few are watching a movie
  • ^^^^^^^^ I think running is great but I do not think swimming is that much fun...therefore I run instead of swim. If I loved swimming I would likely swim instead of run. If you don't like it don't do it. With that said...the tips of shortening your stride, working on footfall....I like to think about running like I am…
  • praying
  • I teach at a high school. I use the fitness room all the time as do many other teachers. I look at it as being a great example to my students...and it is super convenient
  • I find that even at the same effort I burn a lot less in the early AM than in the afternoon...and effort is a big factor
  • your body does not care about the when of eating and exercise that much. I usually exercise between lunch and dinner and often make dinner decisions on how much I burned BUT on days that I do not workout until after the kids are in bed and I pre eat my exercise calories it just motivates me to do what I need to do.
  • you are right..that was over generalizing. I have found that "generally" men and women are different...women can be known to expect men to read their minds and just know what they need or want....for example I do a good deal of the car pooling duties for out family. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and taken advantage of…
  • And I say ^^^^^^^ as a wife that trains for marathons etc, works full time, does 85% of house work, 75% of child care stuff, and probably 60% of meal prep...so wife can make things happen if she asks for help. Men don't know they are supposed to help unless asked...then I find they are super helpful.
  • This was my initial thought too...BUT... we don't know the conversation being had when he said this...if wife was looking for reasons he might be getting better result than this might have been said in kindness to help her assess what is going on. This could have also been said if wife was being super difficult and whiney…
  • While I did comment on the other thread about what he did to piss me off I recognize the humanness of us all and he does as many if not more things to make me happy. today he met me at a race, helped myself and a handful of other small women navigate through a mob scene of a crowd at a race. He ran a great race and I am…
  • My kids know I log my diet. They know that some days logging reminds me to eat up if i have had a lot of big workouts in a row. We have done a lot of talking about fueling a car and having the right kind of food and the right amount of food. I tell them that calories are not good or bad...they just are...like gas is not…
  • Amazingly nothing...Thursday ...well that is another story and it involves lots of little blue cans....
  • Thank you so much for even wondering. If you know your pace then if the race is BIG find the appropriate starting corral and start with people that are your pace. If you are running a smaller race with no corrals then start nearer the back....if you are going to stop to walk carefully move to the side of the road before…
  • I amI not certain but I think the logic there is that if you eat a good hearty breakfast you won't be battling hunger all day and that is good. i eat a satisfying breakfast and satisfying lunch...but I view those meals as fuel for my day...yes i eat food I enjoy but mostly i eat to fuel myself. Dinner is not always as easy…
  • Half marathon April 27, 2013 Half marathon July 1, 2013 MArathon Oct 13, 2012 I am a non-meat eater, fuel with organic baby food and love to run you can add me if you want...many of my friends run
  • I only weigh at the gym...and that is because i only use the gym a few times a month...I refuse to let the scale control me..it had a firm grip on me when I was rather disordered in my youth...will not do that to myself again.
  • Also fertilized eggs make you fat ...for at least 9 month to a year
  • I take 16-20 oz with me on a run longer than 12 miles....only drink it all if it is super hot or I end up running between 16-20 miles...you should only be taking sips ...but you should sip when you are thirsty...not scheduled...you need to learn how to gauge your thirst...if you are well hydrated before the run though you…
  • What are you looking for fitness wise? If you call fitness being able to go to the zoo with the kids without getting tired then I bet you are fit. If you are looking to run a marathon, then you have to train specifically to run a marathon but you could do it. If you are looking to compete in a fitness competition then you…
  • I mainly cardio train as I am a runner, but i make sure to smatter my week with some strength stuff. Some spells I go 10-12 with no rest day and usually feel pretty pooped. When I am specifically training for a race I make sure that I have rest days...one or two a week depending on what the week's workouts looked like.…
  • I usually just walk away from them in frustration but every now and then I say something super *****y and mean "I know what you mean..... I used to want people to eat crap when they were with me too when I hated my body...now I don't give a **** what other people eat and i just enjoy my carrots and strawberries"
  • Someone asked or at least mentioned how they tested you for hypoglycemia? Was it a fasting blood test? Did your doc include the test for hypoglycemia in a whole panel of tests or was he looking specifically for that? I ask because people have mentioned reactive types...in which sugary foods...even sugars from natural…
  • I admit I did not read the article but I do have to say that people also do not know how to read and examine research for confounding variables. There was a study done once concerning sugar and hyperactivity. The first studies showed an increase in hyperactivity in children that consumed a certain amount of sugar. Further…
  • You are very attractive and I would not see you and think...wow what a fattie I would think cute girl, hot shoes. The categories were created by doctors as a means of assessing health risks. They were never intended to be used as a way of describing appearance or help people with self esteem. They are a guideline as well,…
  • about 15 years ago I was having migraines really badly. I went to an allergist who said I had a wheat intolerance...not gluten but wheat...I cut it out for about 2 years. I did drop a lot of pounds but I was trying to learn new foods to eat to replace foods that were once my favorites. I loved bread so I had to find…
  • yes....work is teaching school and I have 4 kids am married and I run marathons...does that count?
  • while I wish it didn't seem so necessary I will either log the rest of my life or i will likely gain weight, get slower or go off the deep end of over restricting to overcompensate for not logging
  • I run faster than my husband. I find him attractive but admit I find him even more attractive when he is trying than when is not trying for fear of failing. He decides to do races and makes excuses to not train then does crappy in the race...I do not find that part about him attractive BUT if he is trying, even if it is…
