  • what can I say, I like a good debate even if it does get heated. Both sides, all sides, however many sides there are to this thing had some points. Its over, no big deal. Im always going to be opinionated, everyone is.... some of us wear it on our sleeves more than others (I usually say whats on my mind). If it offended…
  • Link me with the thread where this is stated over and over again. Futhermore, you tell me how you stop MFP from adding the sugar from and apple and still add the calories all the while maintaining an accurate count of what you're ingesting. On one hand you're saying that you understand that sugar is sugar, but on the other…
  • Listen, who cares what the setting is on MFP, the fact is sugar from natural sources still has the ability to be stored as fat, plain and simple. For someone to ignore this fact is like ignoring a really important part of weightloss and the understanding of why we need to avoid refined sugars and eat the healthy ones. Im…
  • I think you're putting way too much faith in that quote. While natural sugars are paired with nutrients, you can still overload on them. It's a fact, they are still sugars. They can and will raise your insulin levels if consumed at the wrong times or paired with the wrong foods or over-consumed.
  • You're preaching to the choir. I understand ALOT about how our bodies metabolize sugars and when it's added with natural fibers etc. I also understand enough to know that " you dont have to count the sugars from fruit or milk" is the most ridiculous thing I've read on here in weeks. Just because there is fiber in an apple…
  • Sugar is sugar buddy, what makes you think that your body doesn't count the sugar from an apple or milk? Just because the sugar in an apple is naturally occurring doesn't mean you just dont count it. Do you understand what happens to sugar in our bodies?
  • It's just over 8 oz, but everyone goes by 8 oz cause it's so close it wouldn't matter. 1 cup is also equal to 250 mL, 1/4 of a litre. 1 litre is not enough water for you hydration even on a normal day without exercise, this I know. Many people will throw the old "you need 8 glasses per day, blah blah blah I repeat…
  • I would say that yes, for certain foods, the way it is prepared will effect how quickly or slowly it can be digested. In that sense it would change how "negative" a foods cals were (although probably not significant enough to change the way you cook a certain food)
  • to be honest... it probably would be better to eat the box of ANY boxed processed food! LOL fiber!! love it!
  • I dont think a heart rate monitor can assess your vo2... you have to get this done at a clinic as far as I know because you need to be hooked up to a machine.
  • I wouldn't bank too much faith in the negative calorie theroy either. Just enter the calories that they contain like any other food and work them off like any other food. Every food takes energy to eat so are you going to sit there and try to figure out what each individual food takes to chew and digest... probably not.…
  • Yes you should put it into your profile, when MFP asks for your normal daily activity you need to put in highly active and it will account for the extra cals burned while at work. Dont log it separately.
  • Im assuming you take this because you dont get as much sun in the winter? Vitamin D is the main vitamin we get from the sun, not C.
  • You get what you pay for with electronics, keep that in mind. The price will reflect it's performance.
  • not sure what to say about that.... but I do know that if they meant 12 oz by volume that's not two cups worth. That would only be about 1 1/2 cups worth (8 oz approx per cup) If they were talking 12 0z weight, I dont know what to say. Regardless, stuff like that is crap! Highly processed food isn't good for anyone. You…
  • that's deff not clean eating. plus "usually" only 1-2 cups per day. I am a coffee lover and I dont drink coffee anymore because of this. Eating clean is eating clean. The dairy you're putting in your coffee isn't clean. It has pasturized milk fat in it which isn't clean. Actually, most if not all of commercially raised…
  • You're supposed to (blah blah blah)... I never eat back all of my exercise cals. Unfortunately the safest recommendation that anyone can give to you is to eat them. Everyone is different so no matter what someone else on here does it doesn't mean it will work for you. There are sticky topics in the general section I…
  • You realize that the food you eat still has weight to it? If you weigh 100 lbs and eat 2 lbs of food you will see that two lbs reflected on the scale to some degree until your body digests, absorbs and excretes the remaining waste. Water will also influence your weight gain. Im asuming you are trying to put on fat weight ?…
  • Sports multivitamin, krill oil and synflex (brand name liquid glucosamine stack)
  • make a really thick spaghetti sauce... that's it. By making your own you will cut back on preservatives.
  • Natural peanut butter: healthy fat 100 cals per tablespoon on average no sugar easy to eat a tablespoonful
  • I dont do "comfort food" anymore it's just a fat persons excuse to eat junk IMO and I like to think that I've broken free of those self satisfying chains.
  • I've always eaten the shell. I dont eat them on the reg, actually very rarely. But I just find it a pain to do all that cracking and spitting. They're not that bad and it must be higher in fiber.
  • Well the first thing is, you're a very busy person. Yes it's going to be hard to fit exercise into your schedule. I think you need to focus on your eating more than exercise. Eat healthy and eat enough to fuel you over that 12 hour shift. If you watch you cals and eat foods that are rich in nutrients you will be successful…

  • Your'e confusing me with the person who started this topic. Im not saying "wft"... I was replying to another post by saying not to obsess over every single calorie. Can you not see that I am not the person who started this topic? Also I clearly quoted someone in my reply.
  • and error has occured
  • to be honest, you would be further ahead to have the sugar and ditch the artificial sweeteners. At least your body can process the sugar. Also, you can use natural sweeteners like Maple Syrup, Raw honey, Stevia, etc etc.... White sugar is crap, but you can get raw sugar, cane sugar. There are so many options. I find those…
  • everyone is different so no one can just magically tell you how many calories you'll burn. Plus it depends on your metabolism and how long and intense you exercise for.
