everything, absolutely.

sometimes Im under by 400 calories, sometimes Im right on. The calorie thing is NOT an exact science. Although a caloric defecit will cause weightloss, you cant obsess right down to the calorie. The main thing is not to go over but there is certainly nothing wrong with going under by a bit, especially if you are giving…

you've lost 7 lbs.... you cant expect there to be a change right away, it certainly doesn't happen overnight that's for sure, trust me I've been at this only 15 months and I still hit obstacles.

You're husband should respect your wishes about the junk food... HOWEVER, it is up to YOU not to eat the food! Dont blame your husband for your decision to eat the junk. Maybe you just need more wilpower? It's easy to blame others for our own hardships.

You want to be "normal", you should really start with something simple. Normalize how often you are feeding your body. Feed every 2-3 hours it actually works. Dont make excuses not to eat throughout the day when your body is expecting food.

Theres nothing wrong with his steak dinners... when it comes to a dinner like steak and potatos it comes down to portion control (and sweet potatos are a much healthier option than white).... fried fish on the other hand... there isn't anything healthy about that at all. You'll find all the support you need here and more.

I used to drink the crystal light and it does hydrate you however I stopped because I do not consume artificial sweeteners anymore. Also, I think that carbonated water has a tad more sodium than plain water.

Wouldn't she want to consult a nutritionist then?

hopefully those hormones keep your friends hair and teeth from falling out! in alll seriousness though, that doesn't sound healthy at all!

Its more the artificial sweeteners used in diet sodas and some regular sodas that are the big red flag for me.

hear hear!! Im the same way, I think it's because this crap is actually like poison to our bodies. All of the phosphates and sodium, hydrogenated fats and vegetable oils, not to mention sub-standard processed beyond plastic "meat"

Me personally? Well I started this last year, I got fat... really fat. For someone who has always been in relatively great shape, I let myself go and then one day I was like... Matt you're disgusting, time to work on it. I guess I had always taken my weight for granted and as I got older plus no excercise plus really bad…

I know, there are alot of people on here who log silly things like "shopping" as excercise.... c'mon how lazy can you get?? Shopping is NOT excercise. Maybe the day before christmas because it's crazy, but even that is a stretch. To each his own I guess LOL. It's silly though eh?

you can always add them yourself.

Lets all keep in mind though, "cardio with weights" and strength training are two different things completely.

I disagree... Miso and Tempeh are both fermented which isn't a whole food form (although probably the safest way to consume soy and very close to whole food). Tofu is deffinately NOT whole food soy as it is highly processed (look into it if you dont believe me, it's one of the most misleading "health" foods out there) and…

well, I would say strength training. Some people like them and some dont. They're like dumbells but I think sometimes certain excercises are a little more comfortable to some people using the kettles (more ergonomical??)

LOL, no worries... Im actually starting to wonder if anyone actually read my post or if they just saw the "NOT WHEY".... whatever... it is what it is... FORUMS.
-
Using Whey before a workout is really not a bad idea. I do it once in a while before an intense workout but I have yet to track any greater results by using this method. I mainly only do this if it has been over two hours before I ate last and am about to work out. I dont like to workout on a full stomach, but I would hate…

I cant help the fact that you read so much into two words LOL. Regardless, I was writing to Jamie who was looking for advice and I was trying to make sure she got my point that she wasn't looking for whey. Anyways, i hope this cleared up what I was talking about. I know Jamie got what I was saying and that's really all…

You've misread my post.... I started another thread on the topic of Whey. Just to make sure though, I never once said to stay away from whey. What I said was whey is not the protein my friend Jamie is looking for. Whey has a very specific use and I find most people dont understand the science behind why it works well as a…

I dont know where this "scare tactic try to sell you something site" thing came from.... I never once mentioned anything like this.... I gave a link to ONE SINGLE BOOK that I have read on the topic (one among many). Who said I haven't researched medical files and journals? Fact is I think they're very one sided and its…
-
( I was signed in as my wife by accident when I started this, damn computers....) I've started this thread because I made a comment on another thread regarding the use of Whey protein and Whey Protein Isolate (lets just refer to them as Whey for this topic). I got alot of questions because I didn't get right into what I…

Ill start another thread about the whey, this one is getting BIG!!

First thing: Show me a food with Soy in it's "whole food form". Short of grabbing a handfull of soybeans, what is there? The food industry is built on processed soy. Second thing: Medical Journals.... Just because it may be in a Medical Journal doesn't mean it's the truth and you need to get away form this way of thinking.…

Looks pretty good to me too. Im just curious though, what do you have against egg yolks? Dont tell me, it's the cholesterol right?
-
And you know nothing of the harmful properties of soy?? Anyhoo... Sorry Jamie, I hope I didn't ruin your topic. I have researched both sides of the topic of Soy and it's very clear to me what is actually up with soy. Dont take anyones word for it, but please research the topic if you decide to choose a soy protein. It's…
-
and another thing, Im giving my friend advice on protein. She can choose whatever protein she likes, but there are some of us that like to make informed decisions. There is science involved here and each protein has it's own properties.

You obviously haven't researched the history of Soy and what is done to it in processing. Soy is full of estrogenic compounds which wreak havok on our systems. I dont really care what you do, keep eating it.... good for you. But do some more research and dont ask a doctor. Try this book for starters: The Whole Soy Story…
