I signed up too - thanks for posting this.

I have been back on primal for about 3-4 weeks, feeling so much better - and down 15#. I believe a lot of different ways of eating or diets can work for people, but I know from experience now that this one works best for me, whether I am trying to drop weight or not. I did 2 weeks of keto to get sugar off my mind and drop…

I'm at 60F/25P/15C on 1500 calories - it feels good and is working to lose.

I think that would be described as IF - intermittent fasting, where you eat all your calories for the day in a very narrow window of time. The high number of carbs in a single meal - it's going to definitely have an effect on your blood sugar and insulin, I guess your body will let you know how that works out for you…

> I'm just trying to figure out why I'm having a different experience with this than seems typical. I would have asked where your carbs are, because that's usually what will keep you hungry and wanting more calories, but then I saw your next sentence where you mentioned crossfit. So you probably need the carbs. But they…

> Not only that... Ketones are produced in the liver so how much more stress will be put on the liver? Is ketogenic dieting the best option right now. op partner should go back and see the doc. Agree, you guys are both right. Such low carbs are a pretty tall order without detailed instructions - hopefully the doctor will…

> A diet high in proteins itself can cause liver and kidney issues... But keto/VLC diets aren't inherently high protein; they are high fat. 65F/30P/5C is a common macro ratio. I don't eat an excessive amount of protein, but I do eat a good amount of healthy fats. OP, there's a calculator for keto diets where you can set…

Wow, that's low. I guess the doctor wants your husband to be in ketosis all the time? I can keep to 20 or so easily, and I could go lower if I needed to I suppose. I'm comfy at about 30-40 net carbs, but I whoop it up once a week and go about 75-100. You'll have to figure out which veggies sneak carbs in there (like onions…

I wasn't addicted to sugar, but I was having issues with my energy levels and being tired after meals, being hungry too often, etc., and I figured sugar was the problem. I cut out all grains at the same time because I was doing the Whole 30 program. (URL is below for reference.) Oddly, cutting them both helped - they are…

I use two already-mentioned things: one that I close the kitchen and just do not eat after dinner unless it's a dire emergency (stomach growling), and second, I eat more fat in dinner than probably most people do - fat is what keeps me from being hungry. If you're not comfortable eating something higher in fat, then at…

Yes, if you are not insulin resistant, it can happen that quickly. Good for you! It happened right away for me too, which is probably the major motivation to my continuing. Legumes: they are considered real food. But they're treated like grains because like grains, they also contain phytates, which bind to a lot of the…

So glad to see this topic here! I'm doing paleo/primal - keeping dairy at the moment because of a medication that upsets my stomach without it. Otherwise, no grains, no sugar or other sweeteners, no legumes. All real fresh food. I feel amazing! Weight's coming off, but more importantly to me at the moment, my energy levels…

Yep, you are doing well calorie wise and exercising a lot - good job! I'm wondering how your hunger levels are? Because you eat a lot of processed food, which for me and my body, leaves me hungry for nutrients. When that happens, I can't lose weight. (It usually makes me hungry quite a bit, even at or above my calorie…

Since I guess we're saying stuff, I think you look strong and very fit in the June shots, and to me, strong & fit are beautiful. Good work!

I'm on 1200 and I can do it, but not every single day. I get the best results from having a few days a week higher - 1500 range. I also don't eat low fat anything, and I eat whole foods - the entire egg, regular butter in small amounts, even mayo - the full fat kind. I find my satiety is much better with whole foods, and…

This is the hardest thing! I hope someone has some good ideas.

I received a Soda Stream for Christmas, so I'm drinking carbonated water with lemon slices. It's pretty tasty - much better than plain H2O.

My mom is this person for me. She does something called Total Body Makeover, and my hat's off to her - it works for her and she's happy and feels satisfied. She gives me all kinds of product recommendations: margarines and artificial sweeteners and coupons for Subway and cheats/tricks for eating fast food and staying on…

That's how I think of it - if my stomach is rumbling, I eat, even if I am already at or over my calories for the day. This usually happens to me at night, which is annoying because I can't exercise it off, but I also can't sleep if I'm hungry. Trying to check in with myself when I feel "hungry" to see if I really am or I…

You know the little Fage cups that have fruit on the side? I buy the plain 2% Fage and then add a TBSP of Crofter's organic fruit spreads - it's essentially jam. Europe is my favorite variety - nice pomegranate/cherry flavor - and it adds 30 cal. Granola and fresh fruit (pomegranate arils or sliced berries or defrosted…

I eat back my exercise calories and net at around 1250-1350 most days; actually eat around 1600-1800. Most of the time that's comfortable and I feel satisfied. When I'm not, I eat more and sometimes exercise to balance it, sometimes not.
